Yeah the problem is the audio quality is awful.
In the end I bought a used adaptor lead and a pioneer bluetooth headunit for £50 which gave me bluetooth streaming and handsfree with functioning steering wheel controls.
Haha thanks, I didnt mean how do you discover insurance companies, I meant how has your experience of insuring a modified van been? I know engine swaps can be tricky, and so can vans, so the combination will likely cause some hassles.
I built one similar to the above years ago and while its handly now and again, unless you have a huge garage, I still do most stuff in my big bench vice just because I cant be bothered getting to the press.
Also worth considering you need mandrels and plates in a variety of sizes (save any old...
Excellent, thanks for the pointer!
Knowing what it was let me find this, which may in turn help you

My ph2 172 has a whining noise from behind the dash, sounds like its coming from behind the centre vents. It's audible whenever the ignition is on. I had assumed fan noise, but it's there even with the climate control panel turned off.
Anyone had anything similar and can point me in the right...
I'm trying to install CLIP (older version) and getting driver errors. Does anyone know if the drivers are 64bit compatible, or just 32bit?
I have a vague recollection that last time I had to use a 32bit virtual machine on my laptop.
Thanks
@GrahamS thanks for that. Which fuse am I looking for? What wiring am I looking to confirm (ECU pin number)? I assume both clocks and ECU can be sorted with clip? (I have it but wouldn't know where to start).
Cheers
Mine were black anodised and fitted when I got the car, i suspect somewhere between 2010 and 2014.
They may have been replaced, who knows. They were knocking and I replaced the dampers, so I fitted new bearings too and decided to go for the ones with dust seals for belt and braces.
The bottom...
Really nice car and thanks for documenting it all so thoroughly!
Found this thread linked elsewhere when looking for info on the Yanoo Stiff Shift.
As an aside, do all trophys have a non colour coded boot handle?
Found a used heatsheild and a new genuine sensor for £20 so I'll fit those and see if that sorts it.
I'll also try this

To check the gauges sweep
Thanks
Sorry to bump and old thread, but it's a decent return on Google and nice to keep the info in one place.
I have a Speedo that's just dead, doesn't even read momentarily. I took this picture last night which I believe is the gearbox sender
So knowing I have the correct box in the correct car...
@Vaughan So I bought and fitted a cruise panel but no lights on the dash. Would you normally need everything, or just the switch to get the warning lamp?
Cheers
@Brigsy, that worked fine, I assume that means that it's leaking fuel back to to the tank when it's stopped and the excessive cranking is the fuel pump having to build pressure whilst cranking?
Where is the fuel pressure regulator on the F4R? Are they a common failure point?
Thanks
Perfect, thank you @Vaughan
So if I buy a cruise panel like this, I should see the cruise light on the dash?

I've checked the bulbs and they are ok, checked for power in the plugs, nothing.
I've confirmed power at the fuse on the passenger end of the dash, and the indicator lamp on the dash illuminates.
Does anyone have a wiring diagram showing where it goes inbetween? Thanks
So I have a 2002 Ph2 172 which doesnt have cruise currently.
I pulled out the dash panel and there are two unused plugs behind it, in addition to the adjuster wheel connections:
Can anyone confirm what these are for? Cruise control and ESP?
And then under the dash I have this, attached to...
That's interesting, never seen that before! was this on track? I've given mine dogs abuse on a fairly heavy car and the only sign is some feathering of the outer tread block as you'd expect
