Thanks I'll do it now. Sigh of relief!!
Edit - All good now. Phew! Thanks everyone, really appreciate it. All wires inside car seem ok.. going to check all on headunit now.
Can lock this now? :)
Thanks lemonobby1.. That made it a bit easier! lol
It's the (only) 5A fuse in there... diagram shows central locking or something.
Do I just replace it or will I need to disconnect battery or anything?
Sorry if that's a really stupid question... As you can tell I've never done this before. :P
I'm hoping it's just a fuse. Is this likely? Argh it better be!
VERY worried. This has now stopped me in my tracks installing the ICE... Lost all confidence to touch electrics! :(
Help! Just killed my car!!
Oh god..
I was pushing my headunit in after many attempts of moving wires to make room when I heard a click, followed by my interior light and immobiliser led going out.
All my electrics are dead.. can't lock it or anything!
What have I done?
Very worried.... :(
Please excuse the unhoovered carpet lol.
It doesn't look great, but that's the only visible part of the power cable and I will, eventually, get around to hiding it (either cutting carpet or covering it with carpet.. though I don't think that'd look too good).
Nope! So far I've got;
- Power cable down middle of car. Cable is visible between gearstick and handbrake (will get some pics up later). I could have hidden it but didn't fancy cutting any carpet! Will probably get some carpet wrapped around it to sort of hide it..
- Speaker cable + RCA cable...
Thanks for that. I've started fitting cables now... all going pretty well!
So you think I'll be fine with standard battery but would benefit from an uprated battery at the front?
Edit - How the hell do I get RCA cables up to the back of the headunit? I have one down driver side and it's now...
It's 2K peak... not sure on RMS.
I was only going to fit the power "crap" because I had it. One recommendation not to fit it is good enough reason not to. :)
Will do some searching when I get home from work - thanks.
I'd say a 'fabric place' too if you can't get it on the net. There used to be one near me that had similar felt on rolls pretty cheap (I know that doesn't help you, but just saying they sell it :P).
I've got 2-gauge... pretty thick.
Having it show through the carpet a bit doesn't bother me... as long as the actual cable isn't visible I'll be happy.
Planning on starting my install tomorrow but just want to clear up the steps before starting.
I have two components, tweeters, crossovers, subs, an amp and cap to put in.
The two subs, amp and cap will be in the boot (this will later be replaced with a single sub stealth install - just using...
TBH I don't think I could list any benefits due to my previous experience with PHP (was my first major language to learn), but since starting Lasso (just over a year ago) I've found it so much easier and faster to do. Though that could be down to the fact that I was introduced to OOP the same...
