^If anyones got vids without the decat id like a gander if possible as if i go for one (which i more than likely will at some point) i wont be messing about with the decat!
Did yours fit with no problems liquidyello?
To be fair mate the salesman took us out first and made a point of 'showing us what it could do' if you will so once i had my turn that was my licence!
Hit a few nice roads so it was all good really and the way it should be when being taken out in these cars imo....
172 cup i assume you mean?
I have pals with standard 172's and they are the worst of the bunch for what they are supposed to do.....A fully loaded 182 with a few minor tweaks is much more capable and easily on par with your average cup plus it has the goodies!
I think a test drive was long...
Im similar on the Valver as i would say my Valver (especially when i took it to 2.0 16v territory) put more of a smile on my face than the 182 i have now does but again i suppose its all down to what i want it for which is really nothing but a car that puts a smile on my face when i get in it on...
Re: FAO who have owned both 1*2 and 197/200's!
Well i went out for a test drive today and although i was impressed i wasnt all the same as imo it just hasnt progressed enough in the departments it shouldve done being that its a performance hatch!
Things i liked -
The looks (Alien green)...
To be fair you've well and truly contradicted yourself as first of all you said these diesels would 'pull away from the 1*2' (as per below quote) and now your saying 1*2's wont pull much ahead which is a bit of a difference!?
I have never denied that some will hang on once moving but that...
^Yes but even those are not going to pull a way from a 182 (well not a good one anyway) like you say!
You can go on all day about these diesels with similar power and loads of torque but fact is they all weigh two tonne when in comparison our cars weigh f**k all!
As said we have 2.0 tdi...
Haha yes when talking bug BMW, Audis etc but what about when talking the manufacturers i was talking about!?
I didnt realise they did the bigger diesel lumps?
^You must but fact is most reps/companys need cars that give good fuel consumption.....The 3.0 V6's i take it your on about would give early 30's at best!
^LOL - Have you been sent on a mission here my friend? ;)
In standard form those lumps (which weigh two tonne) will still not stand a chance imo.
I've had blags with various Golf GTi's in time and even with the latest there is nothing between it and the 182 so you can draw your own...
I have to disagree on the faster or comfy bit but better built yes!
By talking rep mobile i think of Mondeos, Vectras, Passhats etc where none of which in standard form are that cracking in either the speed or comfort department imo!
My old boy has had a Ghia X Mond TDI for a few years now...
Ahh right mate - Is that a fairly expensive extra?
Im looking at them/test driving one the weekend so im gonna really need to wise up on the options before hand! lol
How come you've change over from the 197 so quickly anyway mate? Is there much in the two?
Re: FAO who have owned both 1*2 and 197/200's!
^Your not doing me any favours here - This thread was supposed to be mainly to persuade me to seriously think about the change! ;)
Still gonna have a drive in one and see what i think.
Someone has to do it though mate! ;)
I have always thought the same to be frank but after weighing up what two year old R27's (and even Cups to some extent) are up at in comparison with brand spanking new 200's that come with a three year warranty it is near on madness to go for a used one...
Really mate?
I was speaking to a dealer the other day who seemed to think he'd be doing me a blinding deal on an RB 200 he had in stock at 14k?
It did have Recaros but dont all the Cups come with those!?
Re: FAO who have owned both 1*2 and 197/200's!
^No mate i wouldnt but that is why i would only go for the R27 or a Cup chassied 197 or 200!
Remap may be in order though.
^I worked it out based on what mpg mine was getting (38/40) on a similar daily milage (i worked it out at 130 a day) using the motorway which would work out £3640 a year, £18,200 over five!
Still an absolute fortune mind!
Not bad but i want to know why anyone would chose one as a company car!?
I used to use mine on a 120 mile round trip once in a blue moon (2 weeks a year max) and absolutely hated it but 170k in one is probably doing that every day!
