will it make a difference on a 1.4 16v 2004 clio?
my old 306 1.4 8v managed to get 117 downhill once, and i had just filled the tank up wit optimax...by accident! cost (my mum) £54!

my two m8s have clio 1.4 16v and 1.2 16v. the guy wit the 1.2 has 17"s and he swopped them wit the 1.4 for a day so the 1.4 had 17s and 1.2 had the standard 15s... conclusion? the 1.4 cud only pull about 1 car lengh on the 1.2 from 0-80!!!
usually its more like 10 car lengths!
i wud never...
my 1.4 16v is only 1800miles old, and i noticed a considerable drop in mpg wen i put the filter on. contrary to popular belief the 1.4 is quite a little runner! im not saying that 172 owners shud beware, but its a completely diff car to the 1.2 16v.. differences being heavier steering/clutch...
SORRY BEING REALLY LAZY HERE AND CANT B BOTHERED TO READ ALL DA POSTS...
but on my old 306, after i was involved in an RTA the car was fixed but the wheelbaring kept on going.. everytime i put the brakes on i heard (and so some extent felt thru my right foot) the brakes grinding. maybe the...
yeh the spark-coil plug things always go on clios. one of my m8s cars had all 4 of them go all at once and another m8 had 3 go at different times and wen he took his car in yesterday they sed that the car had the faults all along from wen it left the factory... weird i know! but in both cases...
gearbox will feel more worn in, ie it will go into 1st easier. wen u rag it the 1st time, go round the bak and smell the zorst. it will smell a bit burnt- thats prob due to the fact that its the "2nd half of the engine" has been used - ie high revs. and the exahaust is burning off all the stuff...
yes i wud like to know that too brun. i mean that is really cool, but is it all worth it now that uve had the car for a few months? wot kinda power 0-60 Vmax do u get from it?

i did a 9.8 0-60 in my 1.4 16v about a month ago, and had 1 person in the car and not much fuel. had just been doing !22 odd on the motorway so im not sure if that cleaned all the sh*t outta my engine or wot!?

going to a longlife place tomoro in cardiff to see about gettin an exhaust for my 1.4 16v. they quoted me £289 via email, and i was just wondering if ne1 else has a longlife exhaust? they also sed that they can tune it to the sound i want. has ne1 opted for the loudest possible??? if so wot...
yes, it does some damage. coz wen it slips, and u smell that aspestos burning smell (99.9% its the clutch) thats becoz the material is burning away. not sure wat the cambelt will smell like, but its made of rubber too, so yes it does wear out.
if the car squeaks as u pull away, or are turning...
yeh, its probably the cambelt. wen the clutch bites hard (wen uve got some power on the flywheel) it either slips a tiny bit or the cambelt slips. if ure gettin a squeak then it sounds like the cambelt. becoz most of the other parts are metal, ie- dont slip, the clutch and cambelt take all...
ladies.... if u want a real filter, uve got a 1.4 16v/1.6 16v facelift clio and £113 spare then u want this k&n. Ive NEVER heard a better sounding/louder filter... its all in the induction pipe...http://erc.qmuc.ac.uk/cliosport/gallery/full/1081800258__MyClioAirfilterCloseUp.jpg...
as the irish say... thanks a million!
wot r u doing tuesday (tomorrow) chris g? (lol- dont panic i dont mean it in a gay way!)
im going to go to halfords to get some new no. plates, locking dustcaps (bcoz i dont want ne little b*stards nicking them again!) and i need to go to reno wheels to...
better declare the 6litre v12 under the bonnet! but seriously, should i decare my lowered sus and k&n filter? at the end of the day daddy is paying ins and he knows that ure sposed to declare but doesnt seem too botherd to!
...well, aslong as i dont crash ill be ok

wot do i put on my 1.4 16v? i want a powerfull sounding exhaust and am prepared to spend that bit extra to stand out from the crowd... i dont want one that sounds particularily loud whilest idling but one that really comes into play above 4000rpm!
ne ideas/experiences/tips/facts.... id like to...
if its a proper viper kit, with a decent cool air supply then ull b ok, but if u cant fit the cool air feed in properly (and, trust me its hard!) then ull skrew up yor performance in the top end of your revs! if i were u id just get a proper kit for ure car, coz there must be some kind of...
:( unlucky m8, i feel really sorry for u, because i -along with many other people on this site, have been over 100 many times and uve just been 1 of the unlucky 1s!
wot im about to say does not in any way help yor cause but,..... isnt the system a b*tch? u were on a 3-lane road at nearly 3am...
my dad just saw all these posts and said: "haha their all sad, comparing their clios...they wanna race some real cars! (ie- me!)" he was quick to forget that he bought mine for me recently and he thought it was the best little car at that time for the money!
