Dont think you quite understand. Cup alternator is smaller than a ph1 alt The ph1 alt is bigger as it runs aircon etc A ph1 alt will NOT fit in a cup alt cradle For a air con delete set up u need a 172 cup alternator and its brackets The end Got it now?????

I had the same problem last year. Turns out a laguna ball joint fits but come with 10mm holes as apposed to the 12mm holes u need. Drilled them out to 12 mm and they fit perfect Do a search on here for more info mate
