Im 17 (18 in march) and its going to cost me £2.2k a year to insure a 172 under my own name and having 1 NCB. It costs me £1.5k atm to insure my 1.2 so i wouldnt like to think how much a 1.6 would cost at 17.
How long have you had your license? as i know for a fact if i had a 172 in the first...
Just bought a 172 FF in iceberg but im not happy with the standard spoiler so im looking at getting either one from a Trophy/V6 or just a cup spoiler. The trophy spoiler will cost more as i will need the boot lifters also.
Im sure you know what they look like but heres some pics :)
Trophy...
Im just wounder is there any side effects from chroming/polishing the plenum/fuel rail guard and engine mounting of a 172? heat?
I see alot of people polish the inlet pipes but leave the Renault Sport plaque standard, is this just preference?
sorry if this seems stupid lol

Converting the body work on the blue one didnt really cost that much at all and ill probably get abit more money for it as it is rather than standard.
Converting my blue one seemed a shame to mess around with the engine when it would be a great first car for someone when i come to sell it...
wont be insuring until im 18 with 1 NCB, then it will be around 2k-2.5k :( expensive but you only live once ey ;)
converting seemed like the good idea but financially the way im doing it will be much better than converting my blue one. The money i will make from selling my blue one will pay for...
Na will just transfer all the stuff over from the FF engine, cam belt snapped on the FF engine and dropped a valve and hit a piston as in picture...
got all the bits from the engine including inlet manifold etc and pumps.
After buying an engine which has been sat around for a long time im going to do a full service of it and the 172. What would you recommend chaning....?
- Cam Belt
- Alternator Belt
- Filters
- Plugs
