Standard airbox with panal filter is the best setup by far for power
k&n will lose you about 5bhp and putting a caf next to it will make no difference what so ever, the filter is that close to the inlet manifold that draws in so much hot air reducing power big time,

Right I have made my decision and I will be buying a 172 cup instead of a trophy and these are my reasons
1, half the price
2, mondial blue is so much nicer than red and won't fade
3, don't want to have worry about rebuilding the dampers
4, plenty of cups at...
Also worth noting that it might possibly be the big bolt that goes through the mount has sheared in half as it's a common fault, and causes really bad knocking
Looking at getting a Clio as a daily and for the occasional track day, so have narrowed it down to eith a 172 cup or a trophy,
now I know a trophy has better seats and the mega expensive sach dampers, apart from it being a couple of years newer is it really worth the extra cash??

if the engines are serviced well through out they should last a long time,
The gearboxes however are the weakest part of the car, when on a test drive, make sure the gear change is smooth with no crunching, when in second gear give it some throttle and have a look how much the gear stick...
