Re: Mk1 Hybrid Project
Foxy I only sugested the fuel pump on your hybrid twice because on my r5 tub I had similar cutting out and jumping rev needle problem drove me mental for weeks infact. I checked everything electrical swaped the ecu, dizzy cap/rotor arm, plugs, leads checked crank...
mk1 r19 turbines( not mk1 clio turbines different) look mint in anthracite with no caps on ph2 facelift 172/182's otherwise forget it imo, they dont quite look rite on ph1's.
The spacers will only lower the offset hence increasing the amount they stick out. Have material removed from back of the stud face to raise the offset slightly.
sounds like the linkage is slightly out? its also possible to get a bit more shift space firstly by engine mount alignment and secondly fine gear linkage adjustment imo.
Personally id fit my ic behind the grill in front of top of rad for shortest route possible. Using both hard pipe verticle exit ic on throttle end with horizontal exiting ic on to the turbo.
there mounts look like they could possibly improve engine stability slightly but its very important to position correctly and tighten each mount in sequence with engine as far forward as possible otherwise knocking on acceleration and crunching gears can be exagerated.
get a standard ph1 and leave it alone!, it looks like some chav has pre owned ragged the granny out of it and neglected servicing but decided to colour code the side strips and paint the calipers red? nasty imo but im a pureist.
To increase ic capacity is not the only concern when choosing a replacement ideally the boost route must be as short a route as possible with the least amount of 90 degree bends (flow restristrictions) situated in a cold spot. The steady flow of a gas has to be worked out using an mathematical...
Keeping my titanium ph1 anyhow its mint on below average miles. Iv had it since 30K and it wants for nothin watch the price creep up as they become harder to find. Finding a mint original condition ph1 172 will be like looking for a low milage genuine R5 GT TUrBO soon.
cdiscount.co.uk I went for a sony vaio vgn nr32z/t in brown wenge saved 200+ on original sony retail price, was 649 originaly been reduced recently to 519 (on sony uk).
I get this exactly also I think it could possibly be the rear lower control arm to subframe mounting point wear issue. The hole in the subframe elongates over time this combined with the shock assembly not being bolted to the body, I think this wear causes excess movement making castor tracking...
Critical error in my opinion, renault need to address 172 design issues before producing inferior components! The bolt shaft would not wear because is a heat treated tensile bolt where as the subframe is a mild steel mounting piont.
