It's not a server though its a workstation running creative suite on the mac os. It's not badly priced if you spec up something with the exact same spec.

Yeah it is crude way and you do need to tweak settings to get something half decent! Is it a complex logo? if not just redraw it.

It's called "live trace" & "live paint" under object heading i think from memory

You really needed to create the logo in illustrator first - only way you can do it is to place the image in illustrator and use the paint/outline tool. or place in it as a template and trace it.

Lasso tool is unforgiving if you mess up - Pen tool is much better and more control and can tweak your selection.
