Well another photo update ............ phase 1 modifications complete :tongueclosed: ! Big thanks to Gaz for his hard works & @Ph1 Tom for bits of advice through the process , im sure there will be a few more texts during the phase 2 ITB install, although I think the hard works has been...
Yeah it's getting there mate, bit of me says I should have just put the ITB's on just now as they are lying there waiting, but it will be well into August before I can get it mapped and thought I could fit a couple of track days in between with just the cams in. Fingers crossed it all goes as...
well todays update following another late night (big thanks to my mate Gaz for his help with this ).......
Car is built back up with (almost) a couple of finishing touches to be completed and was planning a run in at the weekend before the track day if all goes according to plan! picture...
FLOL mate. Don't know about the too much money, well certainly not any more anyway, but I am hoping for awesome!
Fingers crossed this makes a difference as it was a hard decision to part with the cash when I have read so many horror stories after modifying......
Todays update
Steady progress so should be all back together by Saturday...... sorry photo's a plenty but they really show it all, and I suppose a good record of work done
Still a little lost with the oil leak around the sump though! doesn't use that much but after a track day the sump...
Well its about time for a quick update on the Trophy. Work has been busy lately so the car has never moved at all and It was about time the new parts get fitted!
The first phase of the mods will be:
New Timing belt kit, water pump & Dephaser pulley
piper 285 cams
cam & crank shaft seals...
Open session full day (reverse) on Saturday 11th and a track night on Tuesday 14th...... If I get the car built back up I'll try for the 14th, think Fraser will be there as well.
just watched the vid mate, damage not as bad as I thought it would be. Can relate to your pain though, I'm the same with the Trophy, it is track after all but I do like it detailed before every track day . I think it will be August as well before I get out next! catch up with you soon and...
Sorry to hear that mate, but it is a track car so it will look good with a few war wounds :-)..... I suppose when you chase the times it happens. Were you running road tyres or semi slicks? Will hopefully catch up with you soon.
Iv
I have the RC6's on and they have never let me down unlike the D2500's. I've got a set of 8's lying we'll so what difference they make soon. Good luck for this afternoon, weather looks great, if not a little too hot for it :-)
Gonna have to do something to keep up with yours mate... it sounded amazing last week, hopefully my one will roar something like that when its done! will enquire with Curtis about the cup/seat next week and let you know what he's saying
Not much of an update today, but just a couple of photos of the bits that will hopefully be fitted this week............... Blue maybe not the best colour to go with the red, but they came at the right price
more parts arrived today,
Timing belt kit, dephaser & water pump, along with cam shaft and crank shaft seals, got a really good deal from Fish Brothers Renault.................... so cams, oil cooler, silicon hoses and a Scott Morgan alloy radiator & fan setup can get fitted next week...
Morgans right, the higher gear and later turn in works all the way round the bottom half, you can carry more speed and the car still feels planted... I'm a little wary of 4th into duffus as well, not one I've tried as I like the control coming in, but will give it a bash again next outing. I...
