Tyres are all decent continentals. All suspension (dampers,springs,bushes) replaced with genuine Renault cup items within last 12 months. Engine recently serviced, cam belt done. Dog bone mount replaced with uprated item, and all other mounts brand new. Therefore..interested in performance...

Just took off a BCM induction kit - didn't like the noise. Car feels a lot better for having the airbox/filter setup so that'll be staying. If those options aren't worth having, I welcome any other thoughts? Proper remap by RS Tuning or similiar? Just a de-cat?

I've just found out that mine has some sort of aftermarket exhaust on, all be it with a 'small' centre silencer but the car is very quiet. Think I'll start with a de-cat with a silencer to be safe, and look for a ktec stealth in the future. Thanks for your help :)

Think you mis-understood mate. I went from "in the garage" (which is where it lives) to "on the drive" - and this reduced the quote by c.£80!!!

stealth just means it's hidden behind the bumper I believe? Just found this on the Ktec website, I assume this is WITH the OEM cat fitted: That doesn't see tooo bad then. maybe it's the de-cat that gives the extra noise?

I'm after changing the exhaust on my 172 cup for something more free-flowing. Is there a list anywhere of the noise-levels of aftermarket exhausts - I don't want anything that'll prevent me from doing any trackdays. The car currently has an OEM cat, which will probably stay for the moment...

Based on my own 10% rule when buying cars, the chap probably wants a min of £2,400. The first poster is talking bollox, you'll never get a 172 cup in what looks like 'good' condition (cambelt done etc) for £1,600. Offer £2,200 and go from there.

Gordons Tyres in Wakefield are great. Do a free check to tell you whats what, and then charge you for what you want doing. Had my old Integra done there. There's usually a race car on the ramps whenever I've been as they do camber, castor, toe-in etc etc

Badges are as you say revel. Think ill leave them if there are holes

Got a 172 cup this weekend. Tempted to remove the badges as theyre abit tatty and have muck/polish between them Is there an unwritten rule of 'cup' ownership that badges shouldnt be removed or does it not matter?

400 quid seems a nice figure danny lol. Final figure seems to be 440, not too bad I guess. Can someone explain the cheaper if on the road thing though?
