Thanks! There are zero parts here, I will get them all shipped from the UK, for France.
The LHD market is slightly elevated, have a look at the French used car websites, so for the UK no it's not really a great option. But for the LHD market you can make the numbers work. The main joy of...
I think I will take delivery end of April or beginning of May. It's -20 here at the moment and snowy, salty roads, so i'll wait till winter has passed!
Haha thanks, I think they are going to be going up in value so there is some method to the madness.
I've been asking myself the same question; I don't think it's iceberg, but i'm not 100% sure. Will be a nice surprise when it arrives!
For Japan, in 2003 onwards most European stuff was RHD and pre 2003 Euro stuff was LHD as a rule of thumb.
thanks
It is standard yes. Mark sees loads of cars but not many Renaults so he does his best, which for me is more than perfect.
As some more astute CS member may have noticed in the General Media section I have a JDM cars to Canada thread on the go.

In here I will keep the Ph1 stuff up to date. This 2001 Ph1 172 was purchased from auction in Japan, below are...
Here was the pre-auction walk around video of the 172 I purchased at USS Nagoya done by Mark at Brave Auto International. Can't wait to get my hands on her!!
There are a few commentary errors from Mark (after market gear knob etc.) but it's a great service he provides.
1680 pounds as a car cost at auction but I still have shipping to pay for etc.
To be fair the LHD stuff from France seems to be really pricey so maybe ive done ok in the grand scheme of things!
Parts are ok to source in general, Delicas are very popular here. Even parts from Japan are not that hard to get hold of you just wait a little while.
I think i will unwittingly become the first Renault specialist in Canada, but again at least I can source parts from the UK. The timing belt and...
A couple more auction specials that are making their way across the ocean to joint the Evo 6.
Mitsubishi Delica first followed by a minty mint 172 Ph1 :)
If anyone can help me with this part number for a ph1 clio v6 that would be great.
Not sure exactly what you'd call it...but its the inner rear toe arm / tie rod end (assembly minus the outer end link).
Thanks
Yep LHD, 'back in the day' the French didn't really care about the Japanese so just sold them LHD cars. All 172's and Pug 106 GTI's are all LHD that are pre 2003ish.
Importing into Canada - the car has to be 15 years old.
USA has had some importation loopholes closed (they have a 25 year...
Set to work on the Evo.
Changed the rear diff driveshaft and axle seals.
Failed attempt of fitting a whiteline rear sway bar, It hits the rear subframe/diff carrier.
First real look at the underside and luckily it super super good, no rust. Sill needs a good detail!
Cheers...
I work in the oil and gas industry as a Trenchless Engineer. Have done for the past 18 months and been in Canada for 2 years now. Love it.
Winter is well on it's way here, seen a few negative numbers over night already, time to tuck the Evo away in the garage until spring time.
I did but I left for the mountains out here in Canada. I miss my exclusive, was a great car. Thanks
As @Philip. said, most parts are listed on the auction sheet before buying. But there were a few nice surprises.
Took delivery of this 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 6 about a month ago from the auctions in Japan to me here in Calgary.
It's not perfect but, with it being 17 years old, I'm delighted with it.
There are still a few bits to sort out over winter:
Tidy some wiring
New driveshaft seals on the rear...
I moved out here after quitting my job up in Canary Wharf on a bit of a whim.
You are totally correct when you talk about how 'the place struck a chord with you'. It's so far removed from what you can experience and feel in the UK, myself being a big outdoors-ey mountain person I can't see...
