    Nexus S

They did say the same thing about RFID's :-) I was thinking more along the lines of swapping out the "official" NFC in a movie poster with something more nefarious web hijacking wise. It's not really a concern for me, but I bet that someone'll pick up on it sooner or later.

    LED TV

Yeah, I believe so. I think the C series are 3-D capable while the B are not.

    Nexus S

Not really that I can see. It almost looks to me that the Nexus S is to the Galaxy S as the Nexus One is the the HTC Desire. Pretty much the same guts as it's cousin the Galaxy, a couple of extra features (NFC), and the full Google Experience instead of Samsungs UI overlay.

    LED TV

I've got a UE46B8000 which is edge lit, I've seen many places advertising that as backlit. It's an advertising thing, as they call edge lit TV's LED backlit. What you actually need to do is ask which LED backlight tech they are using. From http://reviews.cnet.com/2795-6482_7-399.html...

    Nexus S

The most interesting thing about the Nexus S is that it'll be the first handset with Gingerbread on. I'm not entirely convinced about the lack of SD card slot. I have a 16GB one in my Nexus and it's constantly only got 5-700mb left and the only reason I haven't upgraded is that 32gb ones are a...

Watchguard Firebox Firewall - configuration issue

Yeah, and I fecking hate them. They are a pile of shite. It's a firewall designed by someeone who's never seen a firewall before but had the conecpt explained to them by someone who has seen a firewall, but english isn't their first language. :-) anyway, what version and what you trying to do?

Shutdown software for PCs on network?

Even easier. The PSTools kit has PSShutdown. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb897541.aspx You can shutdown any machine that you have admin rights for from the command line. psshutdown \\* -c -k that will shutdown all machines on your domain with the option for a user to...

    Kinect TV mount

I did see a link somewhere (I'll have to search my history) which showed how to adapt a PS3 EyeToy TV mount using some velcro tape. I'm probably going to go down this route as I have a Samsung LED job and there's no space to bluetack anything on the top :-( edit: one of these, and some velcro...

Car has trouble staying at a steady speed

It would sound like some sort of issue with the electronic throttle. If the throttle peddle position sensor is faulty it'll suddenly send no signal to the ECU and will stop accelerting, then it reconnects and you go back to the previous throttle position. That's a wild guess though :_)

    Kinect - Xbox 360 Thread

My mate got his delivered today (Monday that is) and I've just spent the evening acting like a flailing tard :rasp: It's pretty fun, and very knackering. I can see the Dance Central game being pretty popular with the teens, not really my cup of tea though. The fitness one is pretty...

Packet loss. (Watch dog should close VM down.)

Why's it a joke? Unless you're actually paing for a full blown business line, pretty much every ISP will have some sort of throttling and a mximum download limit (yes even those that say "unlimited usage"). Virgin is one of the very few who actually advertise exactly what and when they do it...

Packet loss. (Watch dog should close VM down.)

50mb is only throttled on the upload and then only between 3pm and 8pm and then again only if you have the improved upload speed (5mbit up instead of 1.5). If you're on the oldschool uploads still then this is how they throttle you...

Packet loss. (Watch dog should close VM down.)

That would tend to suggest that you don't actually have a packet loss problem in general, only to the test server you posted in your first post, which give the way the internet works, can and does happen. Once you get past hop 6 in your pathping you are outside of the VM network anyway. What I...

    Router Help

Depends on the router. Some have the function, some don't. My Netgear doesn't, but a d-Link I used to have (can't rmmber the model) used to be ablle to do it, because we used it to link or entire network to the neighbours unsecured wifi a few years back while we were waiting for BT to get off...

    Internet Keeps Dropping Out?

If you are connected on wireless, it's possible that someone else has another WiFi AP on the same channel. That'll make your wifi drop out all the time.

Anyone work for Virgin Media or know about V+ boxes?

They are. I'm on my 3rd V+ HD box in under a year. First one was one off the new Samsung ones which died in the first 2 weeks. Everytime it's been replaced the engineer has had to re-pair the card before any of my actual channels come up. If you get an engineer come out you get whatever he...

Television with 2 PC (VGA) Inputs

yeah, DVI inputs will accept both analogue vga and digital HDMI. Unfortunatly, you can't chaining them to go VGA > DVI > HDMI, for that you need an A/D convertor.

OS X Server Software Update Service question..

I don't suppose anyone knows what user-agent is used when an OS X server tries to get to the update servers? from http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3923 Trying to make a non-auth rule on a bluecoat proxy SG for this, but the bloody end user won't pick up his phone , so I can't get him to test...

Television with 2 PC (VGA) Inputs

Do you actually need it to be a TV, or do you just want a monitor with two inputs. If you want a TV, look into the Samsung ones. I use one for my PC monitor which has TV tuner, HDMI in, VGA in and DVI in. Get yourself a VGA>DVI convertor (or a VGA-DVI Cable) and voilá all done.

    Interesting gadget for Android phones

The Sony Ericsson site itself says it is compatible with the HTC Desire and the Samsung Galaxy I did think that :), but in the vid he shows it apparntly working on an Xperia X10, and the site linked above says it'll work on the X10 range (normal, mini and pro). IT'd be even better if it was...

HTC Desire to get FroYo update this weekend...

The phone will check automatically every so often to see if any updates are available and if there are any it will just pop up in the notifications bar. It does depend on which network you are on though. If you have a non-branded phone you should get your updates pretty early, if your handset...
