If you fancy a good nerd session the posts from "PumaRacing" on this thread are very interesting. Bit of reading for your next lunchbreak/skive/poop :D

Going back a few years but i'm pretty sure I read some research on this and it was determined that there was no benefit in a port, and that dimples only work on a golf ball because they create a thin turbulent layer of air that clings to the ball's surface allowing the smoothly flowing air to...
Slightly irrelevant but I was forced to go to Cadbury World (not so much a novelty when you work for Cadbury in Bournville) and amused myself with some chocolate art.
Then some parts arrived, not usually worth posting but i'm loving the retro/old skool boxes lol :D Asbestos free!
So...
Oh...yeah, the rear axle is on hold because both the wheel cylinders are wrong (bolt spacing wrong) and the handbrake shoes are wrong (right diameter, wrong fittings in the metal shoe body)
F**ks sake! Stupid old cars and idiot ebay listings. I mean, I'm grateful new stuff is still available I...
I'm sorry at what point above did I indicate that I have a budget big enough to run Kerry Katona's coke habit? :D
Just messing mate. It's do-able of course but the payback isn't there to make it worth while. I've done enough research for R21 parts to know that scanning and compiling digital...
Movement on two long term avenues of investigation this week. Hardly worth an update you might think but when it's taken me literally months - almost a year in the second case - to get to a point where I have confirmed orders in transit the excitement gets a bit much lol
I have sourced some...
I'll tell you why this can't happen. It's because I would end up spending all my holiday money on a Renault 9 non rusty drivable heap, fill it with bits, send her and the kids home on the Plane and drive myself back with my stash of goodies.
Well I currently have a grille and 2 back lights...
Mate, I have a Clio V6, which is s**t to get parts for BUT as long as you are prepared to pay (and I mean eye watering money) most stuff is gettable.
I also have a Renault 21 Turbo Quadra which is a real struggle now, new stuff is mostly gone.
Then...the 9 Turbo. I'm currently about to pay a...
Well, you know, I didn't buy one to leave it unused in a cupboard :D
Bilt Hamber Hydrate 80

To refit the mounts to the axle I went with an M10 threaded bar to pull the stud in, like so
In the end it wasn't man enough and stripped the nut thread at the point shown below, so i dug out some fine pitch M12 stud I had made to long-stud a 21 Turbo block many moons ago and used that, and...
Saturday I treated the inside of the box where the bottom of the axle mount had rotted away
Then I painted the axle black, and while I did it had a good old think about how to handle the refitting of the bushes (Yes, continuity error here as the bushes are already in, get over it :P )
I...
My boss commutes in a C63 AMG 507 edition, 6.2L V8. Weekend car is a V8 Ultima Can Am.
Guess he likes V8's! My daily (S60 D5) is pretty yawn, but in a good, comfy way :)
The diagram doesnt split the bush out from the metal bracket that attaches to the car
However it looks the same so for the cost of one it's got to be worth a purchase for a look-see :) I havent fitted mine up yet though so i'll feed back when mine are in. Link...
I can only imagine how totally hideous it would be to drive in traffic, not to mention the law suits from the people it's just gassed with toxic fumes!
I investigated further, and what i think has happened is that water gets in between the axle mount and the bottom of the car where its rotted and doesnt dry out very well. Its eaten through from the outside to the inside. Where the axle is bolted tight against the bottom of the car where...
Cardboard template, cut it out and bent it, trimmed and welded in. Still struggling with neat welds, bit frustrated tbh I should be doing better than this.
Back edge is a bit better
Then on Sunday did the rear axle with some nice thick primer over the Bilt Hamber
I had another 40...
On with the axle, back from blasting so I attached it with Bilt Hamber Hydrate, I like this stuff. Saw someone else using it on TurboRenault.
Left to cook, 24 hours at gas mark 0.1 :D
In the mean time I hacked out this bit of grot on the back chassis rail where the fuel pipes cross through
863hp at 44psi
996hp at 55psi :o
M1 Methanol fuel, which runs at about a 4:1 ratio whereas Petrol would be 12:1. Technically Petrol has a higher energy density per unit consumed but you can burn three times more Meth per power stroke, so even though Meth is just over half the energy output of...
Yes mate, I have an R-Tech MIG180 and a P30C Plasma Cutter. I got them for a good discount (30% ish) on retail through some charity auctions that R-Tech donated them to, they really are good guys and the kit is fantastic.
I have a 10% off code for the R-Tech web shop if you're happy to join a...
Hi, thats a pretty good rep, even down to the 5-stud wheels! I have a 197 cup and (real) Phase 1 V6. I was about to say it wont fit until I remembered that yours doesnt have an engine at the rear lol. You'd need to move the exhaust exits outwards, and graft the 197 diffuser to the bumper and...
....and just like that, a brand new old stock pattern tank has dropped in to my lap from one of my TurboRenault chums @Big_Steve_T - what a stroke of luck. And being the top banana that he is he's selling it me for the princely sum of several kilo's of Mini Eggs....which when you work at Cadbury...
