Podcasts are great with being at home. Best part of my day now is looking forward to lunch, lining up a podcast and laying in the garden listening to it while eating my lunch.
Nicky grist one is great.
What’s also good is the mention of the clio trophy in the jethro one. It’s no wonder...
I’ve got enough trouble! I get the feeling they wouldn’t sell it anyway as they’ve had it a long time and the fact it’s on the drive covered when they have a new Audi S1 parked on the road tells me they’re quite fond of it!
Good work. Just needs banded wheels, stretched tyres, an induction kit, upswept DTM exhaust and a flamer kit.
Wonder how many of us have stock 1*2’s on here? Mine has never been modified from new in any way.
There’s a ph1 near me and the couple have had it years (must be 10-15) they ‘souped...
Just make sure you go OE for injectors. I had a similar issue and stupidly thought the eBay ones would work and they were worse than the buggered ones.
There was a seller on eBay doing genuine MM ones for around £30 each IIRC.
Awesome. STI V6 which I’ve had 7 years.
Very rare colour for a JDM sti as it’s (unfortunately as it’s my least fav thing) similar colour to the UK cars so people with half a clue assume it’s a tarted up UK car. I’ve never seen another saloon sti this colour, seen a couple of Type R sti’s in it...
An area of the O/S on the front bumper is the only thing and that’s just touched up. I’ve been over it with a fine tooth and certain all the panels are original paint. Even has its original supplying dealer plates (which incidentally still got all it’s health check paperwork for over the first...
Technically mines 17 years old. I bought it a long time ago for my ex and paid more than average at the time. Chap I bought it from was proper anal about it. Prob had it between me & ex (I was given it back a few years ago) about 8-9 years maybe.
It would prob come up amazing with a detail...
I’d love an RB
Would sell mine and get one but my car is completely stock (which I’d want) & original paint (black) with zero rust and going by what I’ve seen recently most stuff for sale isn’t. ie it could be a big regret moment.
Indeed. We’ve had a few more modern cars through work the last couple of weeks that have failed MOT’s on rotten sills. One was quite a modern Polo which was a real surprise to see. I want to say it was a 2012 car (but could be wrong I’ll ask my work mate) I remember expressing my surprise as...
I’d check this.
Mine did the same and the fuse box under the bonnet was a bit corroded where the relays fitted in. Removed and sanded off all connectors and it fired up.
They’re a grower for sure.
Ive always had turbo cars (and have two imprezas alongside my 172) and the clio felt a bit broken when I first got it. It’s a totally different car though and they do go ok, just need to get used to the power delivery.
They are a great little package though and it’s...
I made the mistake of getting a set of cheap injectors for mine when trying to sort an issue, they were worse than the fecked OE injector! Were throwing bucket loads of fuel in and leaking form brand new! Total trash rubbish.
Bought a set of OE ones (which weren’t that dear in the grand...
Totally amazed it’s got thinner glass! I guess it’s been confirmed but reminds me of the subaru “it’s got thinner glass” and it was a myth apparently.
If it was for cup racing, wouldn’t the windows be replaced with plastic anyway?
I wouldn’t do it personally. Not because of the condition factor but the fact these cars are all about the balance of everything together.
Yeah I’m sure it’d be a laugh to have silly power for a bit but it’s not what makes them good little cars. Ringing their neck and being 10/10 is what...
Not sure what quality is like these days but I’ve got a set of flex head ratchet spanners from Halfords I bought years ago (I want to say 12).
Anyway, why I mention it...I’ve also got a set of MAC flex head ratchet spanners and I’ve broken most of the MAC ones yet the Halfords ones are still...
When you say it was hit, were you driving and the light came on?
these cars are really sensitive to the plugs under the seats causing issue and that’s where I’d check. Take a look under the seats and you’ll see a couple of plugs, try taking them apart and cleaning the connections.
My car used...
Can’t believe this thread started in 2018!
I remember your vid buying this (and the idiotic RS owner comments) on YT like it was a couple of months ago!
I just went along to brands today to see what the autosolo was all about and looks like fun. They run half of the runs there at the rally...
I’d be going through the basics first, check wiring connectors to ecu, fuse box connectors, fuses are clean and clean the relay connectors etc. Cars that sit around like growing corrosion on electrical connectors and plugs.
Popped along to brands this morning, looks pretty fun and will have a go when I get my arse in gear & get cambelt sorted.
Take it you didn’t go? Didn’t see your car, only two Clios (a normal non RS and a late 200 I think) lots of mx5’s though.
Chill chaps, was only having a bit of fun and you have the right attitude.
sorry for derailing Frayz!
My mate’s prob think I’m crazy driving around in an old clio and I don’t care either. I love my classic impreza too and I reckon only recently people are coming back round to them, I’ve had...
Coming along nicely! I miss that sweaty back in my old one haha.
I took mine to a wedding reception once and half the reception came out to check it out. Was in a farm yard area all lit up at night under these orange lights and looked absolutely epic sat there. I’d literally just done the...
You May be alright still, you’re at that age where you might be the “old perv” dating a 6th former turning up at her school in your clio with raspy exhaust.
I’m past that approaching mid 40’s. That’s the age where you can only imagine a clio with a loud exhaust driven by a 40’something being...
I know what massivewangers means though, I feel the same. It’s a pet hate of mine to see cars with newer model accessories on. Let’s face it we have these little cars because they’re classic little beasts and they deserve the dignity these days of being spared mods that you’d look like a div...
I had loads of Evo’s years ago, I could never really fall in love with them though. I just prefer the more agricultural feel of Imprezas and they’re what I’ve really loved and kept for years.
Here’s a few of my old ones, last Evo I had was prob 11 years ago!
This was quite a rare car, RSX...
In that case, keep it. My engine seems sound at 131k and was talking to my mate who had one that’d done 175k and was still going strong (until aux belt went and wiped out the timing belt gulp)
Get the belts done (aux And tensioner too) and keep trucking!
Yes, been on SN for 18 years. Still...
Tricky one.
If you’re in it for the long term I’d maybe find a low mileage one but the prices for really nice ones are getting up there. For a decent colour, low mileage example I’d expect £2500-£3000 wouldn’t be far off? I personally wouldn’t buy a silver one now as they are going to need...
