I had EXACTLY the same thing last week.
Car dried out right'n quick, i believe it was damp in the TPS or something.
I had the emissions light on for a week but it went off eventually.
My only concern is that i believe that historic codes (i.e. no longer active) can still affect the way the...
Surely there has to be something wrong as the bulbs dont go that easily.
If they are popping fuses that easily id have an autospark have a look.
Could be somethig as daft as connections in the ballasts etc...
I wouldnt touch myself as they are very high voltage i believe

:D

Ill drop you a PM with my # anyway, drop me a text if you get a chance so i can shout you off the board if needed, usually a bit quicker.

So is this a Reno only diagnostic session to find out whats going on?
Lets assume whatever happened, was down to water in the engine bay. What on earth would cause the car to idle at 3000rpm, not respond to the throttle and the other odd thing was that when i pushed the brake pedal, the idles...
Hey matey,
No, I didnt hose under the bonnet but when i looked, under the bonnet was utterly soaking.......looks like that during my "mega" wash (tm), it got seriously wet under there.
Seemed ok on a cold start this morning apart from the below light showing.
Is that a BAD thing?
Is...
Right, so it seemed to resolve itself (must have been water somewhere?) but I'm left with the wee engine light on the right lower part of the binnacle
What's that about then?
Jj
Ok, Clio was fine this afternoon....started in and gave it a real good wash.
Went to start it tonight and it revved straight up to 3000rpm....at this stage the accelerator did nothing.
The dash showed the wee sqaure with the zig zag line through it.
After it warmed it eventually got...
Second opinion....immediately.
Who told you this? was it Reno?
Has it been on a diagnostic machine?
What colour is the service light etc.
Possible Lambda sensor/coils or a problem with the plugs though i dont think they would throw a light.
Maybe they borked the coils (assuming they...
Perfect,
Wee bit coarse but i think thats a french trait when im used to hondas revving like its natural. It also has a KTec Stealth adding some buzzes.
i dont notice any of these heavier vibrations when driving
Has the usual flat spot from 2-4.5k then goes again
Jj
Come on man, dont scare the s**t out of me like that......in what way do you mean?
I suspect the mounts are a bit crap, i replaced the upper gearbox mount and will be doing the dogbone shortly, but hadnt planned on changing the upper engine one or lower gearbox one.
Jj
Strange title i know but thats the only way i can really describe the feeling
When im sitting stationery, neutral etc and rev the engine up slowly, once the car gets to around 3.5k rpm it feels almost as if something is out of balance in the engine. There is a notable shake.
Id nearly say it...
Hmm, now.....ok.......
I dont know
LOL
The first ones i bought fould the ABS rings so NWPerformance took them back.
The supplied ones that looked exactly the same as the old ones. Didnt measure the diameter though tbh.
They seemed fairly snug fitting in the bottom holes like. (i.e. a...
So,
When i got bonk, following what i read here, i started into giving the suspension a bit of an over haul.
I replaced the top mounts on both front shocks, replaced the track rod ends and bottom ball joints, replaced the front srpings (one of them was broken) and plopped a new KYB gas shock...
Umm....because it didnt change the level one bit when i made the car shift angle and the lights were on....
I just pulled up the drive and thought id never noticed it when on other cars I had...
JJ
Hey,
Just thought i would check...
I was wondering how sensitive the auto levelling system of these headlights is?
I know in our BMW, if you so much as fart by the car and knock it off level, the lights adjust immediately and constantly.
SO tonight i went out and hiked the car in reverse...
So, I posted a pic of my exhaust a while ago querying its origins and was told that it was just a plane Jane aftermarket one.....kwik fit or summat....seller knew nothign about it etc.
Since it was a snorty wee number, I thought I would drop Bex in Ktec a few pics....

And she...
