raspberry pi runs xbmc absolutely flawlessly.... very high bitrate 1080p with hd audio runs perfect... the pi is actually smoother than an apple tv now, apple airplay etc all work great too. Plus it costs next to nothing and can do a hell of a lot more.
nope, if your box is not compatible with the manual update it will simply go through the update rigmarole and reboot with the same software and you will recieve the update when its rolled out. I did both my boxes the other night, takes about 10 minutes.
you can manually update your software (on some boxes) by unplugging your box, holding backup and switching power back on, keep holding backup till 4 lights appear on front of the box.

bass is non directional so it doesnt really matter "to a point" ideally it should be between the left and right speakers to your front and no more than 0.5m closer than those speakers... but tbh unless your an audiophile you aint gonna notice.

for thos having strict nat problems, you only need to reset your router to fix the problem, or stick in mw2 and start the multiplayer and it will open your nat, its mw3's crappy UPnP getting stuck.
the card has no missing cables, the second connector you are looking at is just an aux... 100% not related to her problem and is correct the way it is.
Just about everything on anytime+ is available in HD... if you go to ALL you can access HD versions of everything not listed under other sections. Ive yet to see a movie on it not available in HD.
