Why the hell would a car suddenly decide to fall apart???? Thats one of the most stupid things Ive heard on this forum!! pmsl! Never known of screws slowly unscrewing or nuts and bolts untightening themselves before! lol Can't possibly think why a car with a lack of milage would be worse than...
The higher octane stuff only has any benefit on higher compression/turbo engines. When I first got my vee I ran it on 95 and it ran fine but was noticably different compared to running it on Tesco 98. I have on a few occasions run it on BP 102 and the difference is very noticable. The engine...
I think your bang on the money with that comment. Sounds to me like he hasn't stripped the motor either, just bolt on external bits ie injectors and pullies. I also thought that the VAG unit could cope with around 300-310 on stock pistons and rods?? I maybe wrong though.
"Around 400bhp" = "Its...
Bit of a difference ie tyres, low range box and diff lock. Im not saying that didnt look cool but look how quickly the artic pulled off....that was a lorry with plenty of grip in my opinion. An STI wouldn't shift one that quick even if it were in the dry.
Looks bloody great!! Would have been even better if it were really doing something. Didn't see any wheel spin from the wagon so I doubt the preza was doing anything at all. Just bear in mind how much torque it takes to move a 40 ton lorry......we aren't talking 300lb/ft....much much more.
Im 23 mate but thanks for the flattery! ;) I am abit of a self confessed petrol head so i'll let you off lol Myself and my brother love the veedub, euro scene and I reckon sticking an old skool Porka lump in would be ubber cool!
To be fair....70bhp stupid sounding 4cyl or 200bhp gawjus...
Yeah it would! lol Porsche were making aircooled Supercars up until the late 80's I think. One of the greatest Lemans cars of all time was aircooled...917
Why do all that and waste the time on 4 cylinders???? Should have banged a 6 cylinder Porsche motor in there....then a pair of turbos.........would have sounded nice then too lol
Its been in many states of tune over the last few years....Stage 5 998, 1293 5 port turbo, 1380 AKM 7 port, 1380 7 port turbo which then ended up being a 300+bhp 1460 16v Turbocharged monster. Was aiming to race it in the superMighty seires or Hill climbs but I couldnt afford to rebuild it every...
The day I bought my vee I had to drive it back from Accrington to Northampton in the snow. The fella warned me to take it very very cautiously as they are very twitchy in the wet let alone slush and snow...me being me was like "Yeah yeah ok mate, what ever" lol Needless to say, I left his...
^^Hardly lol^^
Its quite common for older cars to have these if sat for a long period of time. Took me ages to get my original 1960 plate for my mini after 40years of it being on track. Will most probably end up being a Q plate anyway with the epic amount of work carried out to it. Bet even...
Ph2 bumpers are about that price but try doubling all those parts for a Ph1 from Renault. I had the unfortunat task of replacing both front and rear bumper last year. Reno quoted me £1760+vat for the front bumper, around £2000 for the rear and £360+vat for EACH fog lamp surround. I ended up...
Doesn't it just make modern WRC look and sound piss poor?!!! Sod the racket of anti lag, bring back huge turbo's and 5+cylinder engines!
The Quattro is the daddy in my opinion
2002 BMW's were fitted with the M10 motor which were also used in the BMW F1 cars of the time which apparently could knock out upto 1300bhp on qualifying!!!
Lol at the "M3 Version". Thats the 2002 Turbo. One of the first ever turbocharged production cars.
^^^^^^Thats the road that goes towards Applecross isn't it?? Simply epic roads!!!
Great pics and thread fella! Nice to see someone using whats on our doorstep
