I've had battery issues since buying the 182 after having the original battery replaced when it died. It was replaced with an 063.
Whenever it's going to sruggle to start or fail to start after turning the ignition on and waiting for the serv lights etc to go out I can hear this 'clicking' and...
This morning was the first morning so far I've had to de-ice my windscreen. Like most people I detest it so am looking for a sloution to make the job easier/not necesary.
Is a towel/plastic bag across the windscreen the best option? I'm aware most products don't really work and are generally...
I fitted some larger speakers a few weeks ago so had the door panels off and think I might have not quite put something back right. I'm not sure if the following is normal?
I was driving down the M1 last night and it was raining heavily on and off. I had my wipers on auto, when the rain was...
I brought some of this:
http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/Accessories/Lubricants-and-Fluids/Engine-Oils/5W40-Engine-Oil/?521771271&0&cc5_280
'Carlube' 5w40 Fully Synthetic for my 182 after reading a few threads here.
After having just re-read them now I realise the one recommend is the...
I've noticed recently with the cold wheather that in the mornings my windscreen isn't frozen but has water sat on it, one pass with the wipers gets rid of this but then immediatley after that it 'hazes' up. I think the best way to describe it is are very strong water marks. These actually stop...
I noticed yesterday that when having been sat in traffic for quite some time the little engine management light (above the over-rev/shift light) was flashing on and off. Once I was moving again it disappeared.
Today I was sat in queue at the petrol station and it pops up again.
The handbook...
Edit: Spelling fail, could a Mod change 'interioer' to 'interior' please.
Third time this month that the interior lights have flattened my battery.
The first time was when changing the brakes and the boot was open for quite sometime so was to be expected.
Then I had my doors open whilst I...
These are obviously unavoidable and for the most part unrepairable however when I brought my 182 back in June the front end was almost immaculate.
However now it's totally peppered!
I don't drive 'close' behind other drivers and will drop back if it's something with lots of open tyre like a...
Upgrading the front speakers to some 16.5CM comps this weekend. Made a start on sound proofing the front doors. Started on the outside of the inner face of the door and then proceeded to actually fill all the sides I could inside the door 'cavity' as such. (Back of the inner face, round the edge...
Would like your advice on which components you'd recommend.
Will be dynamatting the doors of my 182 also. Eventually will be running off of this:

Final thread on this!
Should the brake pads actually be touching either end of the carrier? I understand filing DS2500's down stops them pinning themself between either end of the carrier and squealing.
However my calipers seem to hold the pads in place so that they are unable to slide in the...
Couple of questions:
Removing the stock system tomorrow and fitting a Milltek system.
A friend recommends that the cat is welded to the back box and the other end of the cat onto the down pipe from the engine.
Is this necesary? Obviously I don't want it to blow however I'm expecting to have...
Figured I'd tidy up the mess a cat made of my front splitter.
From this:
1 Hacksaw & 2 minutes of my time, mixed with a little inaccuracy =
Got the replacement coming on Saturday. Still looks a mess but a little bit tider and less likely to catch on anything! :rasp:
I also realised how...
Currently contemplating a Milltek exhaust for the 182. I was considering a Janspeed before this.
I've done a search and couldn't find much in regards to how the Milltek fits? well or poorly? I've read the Janspeed is a perfect fit but want something similar sounding to the Milltek.
Curious as...
My front left headlamp washer seems to be blocked/not working. Is the only way to get to it to remove the front bumper entirely?
Had a look inside the engine bay and I'll be ****** if I can figure out which is the pipe leading to it!
My rears (PE2's) have about 3-4mm of tread left on them at the moment. The back end is getting a bit lively on round abouts and sometimes on bends too. This could of course just be their limit however when I got the car 2 months ago I deffinatley had more grip at the back end.
So was...
I know this is a popular brake upgrade and spent today fitting them myself.
I was wondering what to expect a couple of hundred or thousand miles down the road in regards to pedal feel/travel and also general bite.
Do lines need wearing in/will they get firmer with time? Deffinatley an...
Today we fitted new discs/pads etc and the car was unlocked for long periods of time then re-locked when we stoped for lunch.
Once the wheels were back on and we were about to go for a test drive the car wouldn't turn over. Ignition comes on but then just would start. Tried in gear with the...
Hi guys,
I'm due to upgrade the fronts (discs, pads, lines) tomorrow and this is also my first time fiddling with anything brake releated or even bleeding brakes.
I'm confident in the bleeding process but wasn't sure if you were to fit the upgrades and then bleed, then say I take it for a test...
Hi guys,
I'm a total n00b when it comes to changing/faffing with brakes so please bear with me! I have read the guides however lines weren't changed at the same time as the pads/discs were fitted in the guide.
If somebody could confirm the order for me i'd be very grateful.
I have brembo HC...
I've got a planned upgrade for the front sorted (HC Discs/DS2500's/Braided Lines/Fluid) and just recieved my free health check results from Renault which has an advisory for:
'Linings - Pads/Shoes - Rear 70% worn'.
Figuring that I may as well replace them next weekend when I upgrade fronts so...
Spotted a silver phase one coming off the m25 at Maple Cross, Junction 17 I think it is.
Giving it a bit of a blast off the roundabout down the dual carriageway  I was headed the other way in a black 182.
Couldn't make out the plate though!
This morning the 182 wouldn't start first time. Ignition fired up as per normal, turned over to nothing, similar to a flat battery. Tried again and second time it took about 2 seconds but turned over and idled fine.
It was quite cold but not so cold as for the windows to be iced. Now it'll...
In keeping with the mass order of Brembo HC disks we seem to have all purchased it seems there's a special little discount for us on braided lines!
I have e-mailed Fred about 'generic braided lines' yesterday and am currently awaiting a price from him.
Just thought I would post this up for...
A couple of weeks back I had a new battery fitted to the 182, the same specification in cold cranking amps as what was previously in there.
Originally as soon as the key was turned in the ignition the car would turn over almost immediatley. Sometimes I noticed it seems alittle laboured and...
Planning on giving my calipers a lick of silver paint soon, brought a wire brush to help clean them when I was last in Halfrauds but they didn't have any silver high temp/engine paint in stock.
Does it need to be high temperature/engine paint? or will standard 'Hammerite Smooth' do the job...
Checked my power steering fluid yesterday (only had the car a few weeks) to find that it appears to have been severly over filled!
Just to double check it was the reservoir closest to the battery & washer fluid tank. Isn't brake fluid, I don't think!
After removing the cap (182) there is...
I've always been quite reasonable with friends/passengers in my car asking them not to eat at all inside my car if they can help it, or to be especially careful if they must.
Of course I'll ask them to keep their feet off the dash, make sure they've not stood in something and generally treat...
Yesterday when at the cinema I noticed a (almost new) jag parking up with a very low/almost on the rim rear driver side wheel.
I let the driver know when they had finished parking and her and her passenger were completely unaware! Do jags not have pressure sensors or something similar?
Anyway...
Firstly I'd like to thank Maccy for giving me a hand for a good 8 hours yesterday! Took the pair of us that long to rinse, de-tar, wash, dry, clay, polish, seal (EGP) and wax. Then got the front wheels off as they needed some wonder wheels on them. So rinsed, degreased, wonder wheels, dry...
