I'm still trying to find the answer to this Q if anybody can help? I've got an old Mac Mini which isn't Lion compatible but a 2010 MBP which I was hoping to put Lion on to. My problem is that my iTunes library is stored on a NAS drive. If I open this on Lion will it still be backwards compatible...

You could look at extension tubes to use with the 50mm too. At least you keep the AF then & get a little more versatility than with the reverser ring. Cheaper alternative to a dedicated Macro lens - although I have to disagree with Macro being a gimmick!
