well as its only the one i cant be arsed with forking out mega loads of cash, as the one thats on there at the moment is a bit mangled, ill get a new set.
ill give the blowtorch idea a go, and see what the tooling dept. at work can make up in a day
nice one on the ident of the locking nut...
tried a molegrip round the outer edge of it, it ended up slipping, gonna try the blowtorch theory thou, if not im thinkin bout making a unlocking thing out of some strong tubing n cutting out the bits that go into the 4 inserts n hope for the best.
Anyone ever drilled a nut out before??
yup and its a wee bit too big for a gaitor grip, 20+mm, tried screwdriver in one of the ledges and hammering the hit out of it to make it budge, still no-go
im all the way in kent, gillingham to be exact, i know a few lads on here live near me, one actually lives the road just behind me lol.
May try the scrappies if i cant find anything, the cat is 87 quid brand new, but as i wanna run a de-cat pipe, i only need it for that 1 day of the year which...
the actual thing is quite big, one of the tire places tried the socket trick, but he ended up rounding it again, as its done up really tight
heres a pic of one of the nuts

sorry its a bit blurry
The previous owner had alloys on the car, and took them off, but he used the locking wheel nut on one of the steelies that need replaceing, and he dont have the key, neither do i, ive been to 3 tyre places, kwik-fit are one of them, they are usually good about that, as i know the chap in there...
Had an MOT on the ol bessie today, heres whats on the failure report...
Both front tires below legal limit. Offside rear tyre sidewall damage and worn to excess
Failed Emissions test:
Fast Idle test CO <0.3% actual 1.75%
Second Fast Idle test CO <0.3% actual 1.85%
So now i...
yea id like to look into this, i got a 1.4RT on the older clio, and wouldnt mind a bit of extra power, as kingjimbob said, how much roughly would it cost to get it all working etc and what would the power gains be over the standard 1.4 throttle body
ahhhh cable ties, ill do that 2moro morning, i was proper sh*tting myself when i heard this tapping, really sounded like scraping, thought my midsection clamp and backbox pipe were dragging on the floor lol
i gotta tighten that clamp 2moro otherwise itll fail for blowing, cable ties should...
Just taken my car out for a bit of a ragging, just to get all the sh*t out the system before MOT time, as its just been idling in a garage every few weeks, i put on a new backbox, was coming out of a tunnel, then all of a sudden i start hearing this scraping, i slow down, get out n check, find...
Just wondered what the laws are on IKs etc and what would be the best option, ive got a backbox fitted aswell, what are MOT test stations like about having these on there, would it fail for anything associated with them?
I heard that they can fail ya on the IK as your not burning off the oil...
stainless steel will rust especially at the welds, as u burn off the other metals that are in there to stop it rusting, cant remember what the actual name of the metal is. but must admit, thats some major rustage for a young exhaust
hmmmm if its the mk 1 clio then i didnt think u can reposition it easily, i was gonna get some plastic ducting made up so i can have my pipercross IK well away from the top of the engine, as i do alot of cad work at work, just get the machine shop to churn something up.
ignore this if im...
ok still totally confused, ive been offered a new vp2 for 70 quid. then looking about on the net i find a chap who seems to have roughly the same setup i want

Thanks Colin_S, 3 years of my working life, and thats all i can say about it lol, parrallel loads...
anyways can someone either tell me that the amp that i picked further up in the thread is suitable to run 2 300wRMS subs in parrallel, or could they pick me a suitable amp thatll do nicely
yea its an Alpine MRP-M350, http://www.cel-direct.com/detail.asp?ProductID=2617www.cel-direct.com/detail.asp?ProductID=2617
i dont want anything fancy, just want something to run both subs at the end of the day :)
well would an amp that gives out 350w RMS at 2 ohms be adiquate? would there be any way of limiting the power it gives out so that i dont kill the subs
right well looking at my college notes,
Rt (Total Resistance) = R1 x R2 / R1 + R2
therefore 4x4 / 4+4 = 16/8 = 2ohms
With the resistance halfed, you get double the power, and therfore you only need 300w RMS to feed both, just that the amp needs to be 2ohm stable
ok, well being a skilled electronics engineer, i can say that parrallel loads, if both the same, i.e 4x4ohms=2ohms, if you wire them up in parrellel, therefore only requireing half the power, as the resistance is halfed. The only thing stopping you is the amp, which in my fact is 2ohm stable...
Hi, just bought meself a couple of vibe 10" subs, 300w RMS 600w MAX 4ohm bessies.
I wanna get an amp to drive both of these, im not really good with picking amps, am quite new to this, so can i ask for someones assistance please :)
thanks
nice kit daz!! looks nice.
well im open to ideas on the paint job, the main reason i wanna do up my clio now was some idiot decided hed dent the drivers side door by slowly driving into it with his van, this was all because i parked in a public car park, but it was on his claimed spot, and...
Hi, im currently in the process of pricing up how much itll cost me to modify my clio, and getting it looking good.
I plan on getting the terminator kit from PSG and getting a flip respray job done on it, and perhaps getting a valver bonnet or getting the valver scoop and getting that put on...
