From what I've been told, they all seep oil and it's an expensive job to replace all the seals. Chances are it'll start seeping again 6 months down the line so I was told to leave it if it's not leaking a lot.
I'm not quick to point the finger, I just want it sorted. And find the whole thing a little odd considering the part that has caused all of this is only a few quid and was replaced a month ago!
Gearbox oil was replaced last month when serviced.
Appreciate the advice and info, however when stating that the local chap knows nothing, could you expand/explain this for me? I'm not defending him, just want a bit more info!
Time for some updates.
Booked the car into a local garage who family have used for years and trust. I've just got off the phone to them and it turns out that the previous gearbox linkage part/join/thing has worn away at the gearbox seals and it's now seeping gearbox oil.

So my suspicions were correct, the small plastic housing that joins the gear stick to the gearbox had fallen out. AA were out at 6am to look at it and he's put it back in but said it should be replaced, and the gearbox seals could do with replacing too.

Pulling into home in first, select reverse and it won't go in. Try a few more times and nothing. Car is stuck in first no matter what, gear stick feels like a floppy arm!
