vauxhall, ford, vw, audi, seat, peugeot, mini all have hot hatches with turbo enignes, if warranty claims were such a problem then they wouldnt do it. Renault have already put a turbo in the 225 so I dont belive for one minute reliability is the reason they dont put one on the 197
Surely it couldnt sell any worse than the 197, obviosuly they wouldnt do it until the current megane had been discontinued as for buying a WRX instead, i certainly wouldnt
Was it deffo faster or did it 'feel' much faster?
The Meg 225 feels alot faster than the 182 but in reality its about a sec quicker to 100 so not a great deal in it
The performance in the 182 below 4k isnt what Id describe as really fast, the key is to keep the revs up making sure you are always in the correct gear to make good progress.
The steering in the 182 is very heavy and the turning circle is shocking (not as bad as the V6 though), if you think...
Welcome to Cliosport
The magazines raved about the cup suspension pack but I doubt you would notice the difference, I personally would go for it but thats becuase I prefer the different coloured wheels.
As for faults there are a few but only minor and most will have been sorted out under...
If Renault announced the 197 would have the 225 engine in it, and was going to be 17-17.5k, how many people on here would buy one?
I certainly would and I reckon loads of others would as well
PS I am more than aware that this isnt going to happen at the moment, I think the best chance of...
The new clio is a far superior car to the old one, the reason Renault are still selling the old one is because the new ones price is more expensive so they have used the old model as the entry level (they obviously didnt want to miss out on sales, unitl the twingo arrives)
Autocar tested one in the 2005 0-100-0
The colt posted
0-60 in 8.11
0-100 in 21.92
0-100-0 in 26.75
Was slightly slower than the Fiesta ST, got mullered by the 182 which hit 60 in 6.49, 100 in 16.74 and 0-100-0 in 21.42
I would go for the 182, simply as I think the twin exhaust make it look more sporty.
Obviously its down to personal preference as many on here dont like the twin exhaust.
I will buy one if or hopefully when they drop the 225 lump in it.
I agree there has been a lot of 197 bashing on here from people talking rubbish but also there has been some really good honest reviews.
I think the general consensus is the 197 is a step up in terms of quality, its just...
Taking price out the 197 is the better car, the question is, is it worth the extra to you?
Go out and test drive them both, then you will know for sure
Big fan of the 197, looks brilliant, drives brilliant and overall is far superior to the 182.
The two reasons why I didnt buy one are it isnt quite as quick (and it doesnt feel anywhere near as quick) and the price.
I read in Autocar that there is a chance that the 225 engine maybe used in...
The thing is there is no incentive for them to sell it cheap at all. unless the car is visual in terrible condition or unless there is a problem with it which is noticeable when driven
