do you not have an amp?, if you dont then its deffinatly not ideal to connect to the head unit. however iirc when you spade it onto the headunit wires then the sub is greatly underpowered, and you wont be able to hear the sound, hence thats y you need an amp to power them so i spose the awnser...

i just took the fuse panel off and collected them to a poser sorce in there and then to a switch in the dash and then its not in cigar lighter or on heasdlights... compleatly seperate... also bbbys stop you when your car is glowing blue lmao ...so you cant exactly turn headlights off when you...
