it's a bit sad to see people giving up on valvers lately, all cars will get to the point of being money pits due to age.
I've stuck with mine and it's a minter now:D
If I could afford it I'd like a 172 as my borin everyday car and the valver as a toy
lol @ lisa, now I understand a bit more...
Same here, can only get on here & WC while I'm at work. What's Gav done?:S
PITT manouvre FTW:rasp: french tin Vs. T5 tank, hmmmmm I think it would be the automotive equivalent to gang rape lol!
Joking aside, prats like that learn the hard way, most of em end up dead:nono:
me & my m8 could have a go
he's got an ex-police T5, hasn't polished the bonnet so you can still see POLICE where the stickers used to be.........might sh*t him up a bit and calm down
nice to see a fellow C16v member on here :approve:
Recently had a full respray done on my valver  . I know not to polish it for at least a month.
What I want to know is, how I should go about giving the car its 1st polish?
What sort of product/technique would you recommend?
Any advice on looking after brand new paintwork would be...
Another good source of information is www.williamsclio.co.uk , do your homework and look at a few to get a better feel for them.
The only reason most people say they're unreliable seem to forget they're older cars, and things wear out so the thing are gonna cost money, so will the 182's 197's...
I would go for it m8, as said if its documented as well all the better, I'd find that sort of honesty encouraging when buying a car :approve:
My housemate is buyin your vee  our driveway is gonna look mad:rasp: will look sweet next to my valver (which is absolutely immaculate...
should've raced him, don't matter how much power he's got if he can't slow down proper
Just outbrake the tool and watch him have a 1.8 16v turbo off roader
You should be ok, if the police etc do a check it will come up as showing a valid mot until the date it runs out.
But be careful as there can still be things wrong with the car that can incur penalty points & fines dodgy tyres/brakes or even no water in the washer bottle if the weather is dodgy
I love my car as well :D It's always really satifying to give your motor a good thrashin especially when its something capable and rewarding.
My valver probably isn't as fast or as capable as a 17poo but by christ it's rewarding and soooo much fun :rasp: Gotta love lifting off on...
2nd all the time ;)
Makes it more interesting after lifting off, keep the back end out a little longer with less opposite lock and then bring it back in line with the loud pedal:rasp:
I can do the theory ok, but the practical aint my strongest point :o lol!
If I was in your position I'd go for the williams 3, thats just personal preference. For that money you can get a really clean williams 1, 2 or 3
As for ph1 172, good car but no more or less reliable than a mk, they're all french heaps of sh1t that will go wrong at some point, you just get on...
The RSI's have relly nice sideskirts that the valver's don't although I've rectified that problem on mine ;) (thanks diamondgeezer!)
Not 100% sure but I think valvers have a wider front and rear track than the RSI as well
as above m8
1. Brakes all at same time, even if it stretches ur budget a bit, it will be money well spent
2. coilovers
3. Exhaust & de-cat
Make it drive and stop how you want it to 1st, then worry about cosmetics. Thats what I've done on my valver, goes for full respray in a week
I...
As above mate, they charge £35 to do all the alignment, it will only cost more if there's anything broken, they're 2 mins drive away from lady bay bridge ;)
There's a place on Little Tennis Street that are the best round these ways for wheel alignment,
http://www.alignment-services.co.uk/contact_us_about_Four_wheel_alignment.asp
its the only place I'll ever take my car to get the alignment done ;)
