or could take it off and try cleaning it, if it makes a difference you'll know it's defo the part to replace.

hmmmm.... does the 1.2 have an idle air control (iac) valve? had one of these on my vectra. started much better once i'd taken it off and given it a good clean and replaced the 59p paper gasket. that's nearly free if it has one of those.
likely culprit though is the tdc sensor. £15ish from...
i personally would be tempted to go for an old one if i was only changing one, maybe keep some sort of equality. but then you run the risk of getting one that may only last a year. not saying that robs springs are dodgy of course ;)
edit: listen to rob though, he's the expert :)
do a quick search, there's a company (pirtech??????) that can make you one for a third the price of renault. they can also make it in two sections for ease of fitting. if it's that same pipe, it's apparently a nightmare to get out. this is all assuming i'm talking about the same pipe, where does...
i find the fact you've got play on the pedal is a strange one. if the clutch is going should you still have tension all the way through the pedal travel? (general question to anyone)
probably worth checking the clutch cable at the gearbox end to make sure it's operating correctly (you'll need...
stick it in the ignition
turn two clicks (one before it starts)
press the button
should do it, works on other cars i've had
it's usually only the immobiliser that needs reprogramming by renault, not the central locking
spring compressors £15

there's a screwfix opposite wickes in farnborough, just down passed the big b&q
you should get a...
i don't like the way the rim sticks out when you have 195's on there. and when you remove them you can't lay them on the ground. although i'm going manual steering rack shortly in my cup, so i'll be on 195's to make it easier to steer!!
ah, seeing as you asked i can say that yes it is going well. i didn't want to come on and say yeah it's good off my own back, sods law and all that.
got my wrists leaning my wooden desk, just in case :)
i haven't checked for leaks, but nothing where i usually park and nothing visible from...
not much info around on headlight washers. not much on ebay either. again could try citroen/ peugeot, check price with renault too.
or try a breakers yard if you got one close. dunno where you are but i go to a1 spares wokingham if i need anything. not been there for the clio yet mind. with the...
ok, didn't know it moved as you applied the brakes. cheers for that. got a thread on the subject with my result after going to garage:
http://www.cliosport.net/forum/showthread.php?561616-Garage-have-cable-tied-the-brake-load-sensing-valve-on-my-cup
after PMing bassplayer for advice but getting no love from vosa or trading standards i went to the garage, played it cool, asked them how the valve worked, got it on the rollers and it showed efficiency of 100 each side on the rear, then got them to cut the cable ties off and it showed 175 on...
there are two washer pumps.
for the main washer you could try ebay, this might do you, check the sizes given to make sure though, or email them the part number on your pump...
Citroen and Peugeot pumps are the same and they charge much less. Separate pump for headlight washers so you'll need two unless underlying problem

so is the lever usually connected to the rear beam and pushed up on other cars, as opposed to being connected to the underside of the car and pushed down?
i got the black box with the brake likes going into it, and a lever with a hole in the end, but there's no rod or spring connecting the lever to the car
no, the lever doesn't touch anything on the back. on cars that have the rod and spring in place and actually use the valve, when the weight at the back increases (passengers or boot) it increases the efficiency on the rear brakes to compensate for the extra load. not active on the cup due to...
spoke to the garage, didn't tell them anything, just asked why there were cable ties on the valve. apparently the fluid flowed better when they were bleeding and diagnosing with the lever pushed up, although they said they were getting around 90 before they cable tied and 100 after. i would have...
