Best bet is to jack the car up and put it on axel stands, this gives you enough room to get underneath and access to the wheels.
Go behind the front wheels and pull the arch liner away from the metal bar thing, it just clips on (both sides).
Undo the 2 bolts from the metal...

I have the K&N Apollo. Picked it up from eBay for about £50. Was going to sell mine but i missed the noise.
I think that the car pulls harder with the K&N fitted. Takes the feed from behind the left headlamp as there is a small gap, removes the pipe.

are you sure its not from the interior light area as there is a fan up here for the inside temperature of the cabin for the aircon.
How about one of the many relays under the dash, or how about them near the battery behind the left headlamp. Remove the cover, a few in there.
