I have a met blue 182 rear with a tow bar hole that needs to be filled along with some scratches above this area. I was estimating £200-£250 for a decent job.
On the rear, has anyone got that black strip coloured in or does that look crap?
Out of curiosity, are you doing this 100% for looks?
A proper corner weigh and geometry setup would be my suggestion...eyes might think it "looks" OK but surly performance/handling more important?
It's not the canister it's the solenoid on the top of it. You can unplug it (behind OSF drivers light) just to check.
(I've got the same "problem", literally 100s of posts on it)
Bit of a minefield this atm. Wheels are aftermarket with 15mm spacers on, lowered on coilovers. As it's a conversion I'm not 100% on the other bits such as the front hubs.
I've been reading up on these spacers, hubcentric seem to be essential. But I can't find any clear info on what the...
OK cool thanks guys, I'll take them off and have another go.
Do the spacers add anything to grip though? Why would the previous owner have put them on?
They're 16 inch on FK Coilovers, not 17 inch, if you can't help piss off I'm not after criticism. ;)
Not that it's relevant to rubbing (sounds more like you're trying to get in on uncalled for ripping) but it's not just the engine, it's the beam, brakes, interior, hubs, loom and all other...
Hey guys, had my 182 for a few weeks now so I've started to push it a little more. Thing is the front wheels rub like a biatch somewhere, you don't even need to load it up in the corner that much.
Seems pretty useless having a fast car if you can't find the limit of grip due to the wheel...
My last car was a DelSol SiR with a decent chassis and setup by Perfect Touch (Dyno'd @ 165bhp). Up a Welsh mountain road I pushed a VXR so hard I thought he was going to go off, in the end I got passed him.
It's so not the car, it's how it's setup and more importantly the driver.
I've just bought my 182, not really had the chance to drive it properly. Coming from a bullet proof Honda B16A I'm a bit worried booting this around all day is going to kill it.
Sorry to bump this, but it's dropped to page 3 without an answer.
When I say disconnect the plug I mean from around the OS headlight area...but without doing anything else to it.
Any help appreciated, I know it's a PITA subject so thanks.
Can you go wrong with a scouring pad of 10p? Yes.
You need to have good speed control (and a scrap panel to practice on)....just not worth it when re-sprays cost so much.
ISO looks a little high and the gerneral opinion is have your subject looking into frame instead of out of.
Nice work though
(Oh and yea, get some tyre dressing)
