Unimpressed by 182, what do you love about it?

So, has the OP revisited another 172/182 yet? I’d be interested to hear how you got on? 🙂

Quickie - PMS topmount nut torque?

Thanks Zach. I did just do them as tight as I thought with loctite 243. Paint marked them and see how I go.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

In what way? It’s a foam filter in a carbon box. Lol. is it worth £400? I guess ITG have to charge for their development time I guess. No ideas what it does for performance other than a bit of engine bay eye candy. Sound is okay but not as loud as a Ktec. fitment is questionable at best. You...

Only just gone on though lol and not set up yet. Feels properly plush on the road though and makes Cup dampers feel crashy.

Electrics I didn’t cover but was just mindful not to soak them. Basically just exercise some common sense around them and you’ll be fine. Washer bottle I filled with bleach and hot water and left for a few hours. Got bottle brushes and wheel Woolies in there to try and scrub as much as I could...

    incy-spiders Clio 182 turbo

Don’t get me wrong, I’m far from an expert on it. But mainly because I ran one in my car for 4 years after doing the big power build and it was flawless. This was in Syvecs early days but now they power many of the fastest tuner vehicles in the world. Not cheap, but a bargain compared to...

    incy-spiders Clio 182 turbo

Use a Syvecs S6 and Im sure you could have a loom adapter made. Then it would be plug & play. I used to run Injector Dynamics ID1000s in my impreza and it started, idled and drove like a standard car. In fact due to the resolution of the calibration available it was better than a standard car...

    incy-spiders Clio 182 turbo

Ever considered upgrading the ECU to a Syvecs and running a flex fuel sensor? You could run a mix of meth in tank and allow the ECU to control the calibration? Switchable maps on the fly, LC, ALS, Rolling ALS. Your options and flexibility with it are almost infinitely adaptable. Run active...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

So, remember the roll centre hubs that looked like they had been at the bottom of Davy Jones Locker? Let me refresh your memory... Well after a heap of work, wire brushing, glass blasting etc. They arrived back from zinc coat this morning. Once built I think these have come out pretty tidy...

As for protecting areas from corrosion, check the products from Bilt Hamber. That’s what I use and have done for years. Deox gel - Heavy rust remover Hydrate 80 - Light rust converter Electrox - Very high zinc content anti corrosive primer. Dynax UB - Dark brown calcium wax underseal that...

Youre right with me my man 👌🏼 Already ordered a new bottle and a new Nissen rad so I’ll refresh the lot while I’m there. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with what I have but makes sense to me to renew it all at the same time.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Stainless ABS brackets arrived. Also arrived were the strut lower lock nuts from @Simon@ASTUK, thank you sir. 👌🏼 Brackets are pukka, but like many of these things, the supplied hardware was s**t. The only stainless M6x12 I had was a countersunk so had to add some panel washers. Quite possibly...

    Correct 182 FF radiator - 7700417175?

Guys, Can anyone confirm this is the correct radiator for my 182 FF? It states the part numbers match, but when I enter my registration it says “part not comparable” Can anyone confirm for me that this is correct...

    Rear bumper M10 bolts

Yeah I’d get some grips on that if you can, if not just drill/cut it off. Replace with some M10 stainless hardware, penny washers and nylock nuts.

GRP bonnet, who makes the best?

If you haven’t already, perhaps look at swapping to a LiFe04 battery. You’ll save more weight and cost less by time you factor in paint and fitting. Let’s be honest, composite parts are always shite quality and will look hideous on a daily.

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

So, today’s cleaning job, the scuttle. I was keen to check the scuttle drains were nice and clear as this can cause trouble at a later date. I think looking at it, this was last done before I sold it in 2015 and hasn’t been done since. Wiper arms and scuttle panels removed and cleaned. Also...
