Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

So one of the things I noticed was that my shifter was very stiff to operate and didn’t self centre as per the OEM shifter. This made the drive feel very solid. But the shift always felt a bit vague in location as you was never 100% sure in you location across the gate. It was lovely at low...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

It will be a slightly flawed review because the bushes and diff were done at the same time. Certainly though even on the softest setting the tail is a lot more lively to throttle input mid corner. I think it makes a significant difference to how loose or adjustable the rear of the car is...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I have to say in these slippery conditions of late, the diff is very noticeable. Times when you might pull out of a tight greasy junction and the inside wheel would slip, Now it just hooks up. The way it grabs for the apex on tight corners is very noticeable. I hope in the try in addition to the...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

First class service from Nick @ Pure Motorsport today. Ordered yesterday pm, arrived this morning. Also had a headlamp bulb die the other night so decided to upgrade to some new bulbs. Phillips Xtreme Vision Gen2 bulbs for the dipped beam and matching Phillips Xtreme Ultinon LEDs for the...

All sounds good but I think a cooler in the return line is what will make the kit if possible. What heat sleeve are you using? Goodridge Firesleeve or similar?

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

I had one made for my Impreza that was in white delrin which looked/felt superb. More classic lightbulb shape in profile. I may explore that idea at some point. Yeah I’d rather delrin than something metallic in these temps 😅

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Cheers mate. Truth be told, it’s something I’m still not quite sure of either, however in the metal I think it looks better than the photos suggest, and I hope that it looks more at home once the seats/steering wheel are in. The actual knob I think is slightly too small in your hand and feels...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

Thanks chap. To be honest I can’t say how well it feels with the diff yet as I drove home from Alex with my OE gearbox in the back. So it was a very steady drive home. Looking forward to having a play in it and exploring its new balance with the rear bar too. I’ve got quite a few bits left to...

Frayz's Inferno 182 - Back in the old flame

So I collected WZD from AW Motorworks this evening. I really didn’t fancy swapping gearboxes and doing beam bushes in this weather. So Alex was once again entrusted to take care of proceedings. Super knowledgable, reliable and friendly. Alex is always a pleasure to deal with and I can highly...

    182 CAT options

Personally id go with the Pure cat or as @bloke says. Get a cheap Cat with a pair of flanges fitted and a centre box with the same flanges fitted to the same dimensions. Then its just a case of 4 nuts/bolts come MOT time. If youre wanting something even slicker. Buy a pair of V-bands and have...

    All electric Mustang Mach E

The need for new platforms is basically packaging. Its a lot harder and overall less efficient for the vehicle design to try and cram it in an existing platform. The "Roller skate" type layout keeps all the batteries and powertrain low in the vehicle and provides the best driving dynmics. You...

    All electric Mustang Mach E

Lets be honest here, this type of car isn't aimed at the likes of us, the normal car enthusiast. They're aimed at the normal car driving family, and as much as we don't like it, electric cars are coming and the market deems that SUVs and crossovers are what the bulk of the car buying public are...

    Seat belts with bucket seats

I have Recaro Pole Position ABEs to go in mine which are specifically designed to sit a 3 point inertia reel belt. I'll be making a fixing bracket to fit the pretensioners to so they slide with the seat runners.

Just another M3, this time with a V8.

3 laps on a full Trackday is a bloody expensive way to track the Ring. Sounds like they’re as bad a TF days now. The fitment on that splitter was dreadful Rob. Does anyone else make one that fits properly? The car looks absolutely mega, glad you’re enjoying it. :)

Massive thanks to Alyn @ AS Performance for the box of goodies that arrived for the Clio today. Jekyll's RB182 Progress Thread

A2/A4 is the grade of stainless steel, short for 302/304 with 304 being classed as marine grade. To be honest, all the lad on those mounts is not really on the hardware as all they really do is stop the dampers falling out when the wheels are unloaded. The stainless ones would have been fine id...
