Re: Mk1 F4R'd Track Car Project [2010 Winter Rebuild]
You found out what that leak was near the sump gasket? I've got a similar leak which I thought was the cam cover seal which has now been replaced... still I see oil dripping!
/Shed.
You got any pics of said 'trim' mate? I've been having this problem witg mine for a while now and don't really want to have to chop away part of that plastic so the reverse selector can get over it.
Sounds Epic!!
I'm gonna have to buy atleast 6 tickets though.. lol (F40, F50, ENZO, Zonda, Noble M12 and Atom) Will definitly be up for this if I can get the money together (lots of fuel to travel down)
Re: One Year on & £**** spent
Do you run R888s all the time mate (I can't remember if this is your daily as well?) Or do you have a seperate set for trackdays?
I really have no idea where to go from here now lol I do rate the Billstein b14 kit because of the technology used and lots of people say you can't get much better. I don't want to start messing about changing spring rates with these, I would rather just sell them to someone who will actually...
All I know is that I can drive a clio better when it's that little bit stiffer than when i get a lot of body roll... maybe it's a weight issue though as i'm comparing my 172 to my old 1.4. ATM I don't like how my 172 handles, would like it to stay low though but I don't think the billsteins are...
I have exactly the same problem so interested to hear results! I've had 2 sets of HC discs now and some ferodo pads to start with. they start fine but then begin to judder after about 2 months of fitting (haven't been on any trackdays/braking hard in general!)
Perfect mate! Stunning example.
I'm actually embarressed to call myself a 'car enthusiast' afetr seeing this when I can't even be bothered to clean mine some days.. :(
Leave it imo. It's your first car so it's allowed to have mistakes, you will be learning in this car so will no doubt bash it a couple of times and maybe crash it into something/someone so best not to mess. Get a nice set of seats in there (;)) that will look good in the 172 also, a decent 330mm...
Is there anyway to have a low setup that still handles alright with the billsteins? I like how low the front is on mine but the rear is on max and still seems a little high... It's also VERY arse end twitchy... needs a setup if im honest, but not like I had last time. (was set up for the ring so...
