i never bothered going back to Renault. the problem seems very rare on RS cars as it was the campus model that was most affected i think.
having said that i oil the catch myself every 2-3 months just to be on the safe side
to be honest if you're updating to Brembo Max and Ferodos i reckon you'd be foolish not to put braided lines on and replace the fluid while you've got everything to hand. you'll get much better feel from the brake pedal and it wont take that long to do.
it basically the pipe which feeds into the side of you standard airbox. the tube goes down just behind the passenger light. just pull it out of the airbox (there's no clip to break so dont be frightened to give it some force if necessary)
i'm just going on personal experience - i've had my Brembo HC's, DS2500's and braided lines on for 12k now and they are faultless i have to say. i've left the rears as standard up to now but the rear pads now need replacing. think i'll be sticking with OEM ones
why do you want drilled discs? they are more prone to cracking - grooved discs would be better but there's nowt wrong with Brembo HC discs IMO. couple them with braided lines and decent pads (Ferodo DS2500's or Mintex1144's recommended) and Dot 5.1 fluid and job done.
Yozza offer a kit for...
why shell out for good discs and then skimp on pads - that a bit stupid is it not?!
£100 for something like Ferodo DS2500's isn't bad really considering they'll last for ages for road use and they stop brilliantly too!
Greenstuff are cheaper for a reason........they're sh!te IMO. Redstuff...
upgrading the rears is a waste of time / money to be honest as the majority of the braking is done by the fronts.
i'd just replace the rear pads myself. standard pads are fine for this but youe can get a set of Redstuff pads for about £40. K-Tec also do their own branded ones for £30 a set...
are you running on standard cat / sports cat or do you have a decat fitted?
any chance of pics & sounclips of your car? really tempted by the milltek but just worried about living with it everyday (i do about 13k a year in my 182)
i haven't heard anysound clips of it but it does look a quality product i have to say and i'm sure it'll be a little lighter than the Milltek system due to a single laterall rear box rather than the twin rear silencer setup of the milltek.
the milltek does sound nice though when giving it some...
spotted this morning at 7:50am. Reg started CN04 ***
crossed paths by Pontypridd (adjacent to to retail park by B & Q etc)
being an 04 plate must be one of the last ones produced??
i was down ay K-Tec on Saturday and asked about a new exhaust for when mine gives up (it's rusting away at the back). I said i wanted one that wasn't going to deafen me due to all the mileage i do and Sean recommended their KTR Ultra performance systems.
there are two versions available...
i've heard of 3/4 plates but never 1/4 plates - couldn't find a smaller one could you? lol
looking forward to the finished pics - how east is it to remove the lower grill?? what's keeping it held in place? (screws / clips etc)
spotted this morning at about 7:05am on my way to work. on the stretch between Abercynon & Pentrebach.
i was heading South on the opposite site.
think the reg started with HV52 *** or maybe HG52 *** (not sure which)
the DS2500's on mine are great for all types of driving. they're not harsh for town braking but they do a great job of pulling you up in a hurry if needs be ;)
they are prone to the odd bit of squeal but nothing that you'd really notice.
you went for Greenstuff pads Gaz?? they're terrible imo. i wouldn't even call it brake fade tbh as that would imply that the pads actually did work before giving up.
Ferodo DS2500's or Mintex 1144 are very good. if you're feeling flush then go for Pagid Blues.
Ditch the Greenstuff Gaz before...
is it overly loud for everyday driving? i need a new exhaust (mine falling appart) and i'm torn between the Yozza and the Milltek - just worried that the Yozza will deafen me or attract unwanted attention
i can personally recommend Silkolene Pro S 5w40 or Motul 300V 5w40 as used both in the past. runs liek a dream on both!

i reckon you're better off just replacing the standard filter with a panel filter to be honest.
open filters like the one in the pic are all show and no go! they suck in all that lovely WARM air from the engine bay which will lose you power
