    I’m eighteen, with a bullet!

    what a load of tripe, its because 18 year olds are more of a risk, Please tell me that comment was a wind up ??

    I’m eighteen, with a bullet!

    1200cc was a suggestion. Granted you have had trouble free motoring but can't you see that if that was the case in the majority of your age group insurance premiums would be circa 3k, i think not.

    I’m eighteen, with a bullet!

    thats what we've all thought at some stage or another...... how can you say age has nothing to do with it, if that was the case why ain't 18 year old lads paying the same as 40 year olds for insurance?

    I’m eighteen, with a bullet!

    it does make him a liability, thats why his insurance is 3k I presume your comment about anger was not directed at me as I have vented no anger, just a point of view.

    I’m eighteen, with a bullet!

    Thats my point though mate, I don't think it should be up to them, surely it should be based on risk assessment rather than your bank balance. How come a 17 year old can't ride a GSXR1000 on the road but they could a Maclaren F1 if they have a fat enough wallet, wrong. IMO of course ;-)

    I’m eighteen, with a bullet!

    I apologise if this has already been posted, I personally find it disgraceful that an insurance company will insure you for £3000 a year. By doing this they are admitting you are a major liability on the public highway so to protect their risk they charge you a very large premium. I know...

    What should I look for on a 172

    len_beach I must admit that the rattles do get damn annoying at times but then other times when youre having a good blast you dont even notice them, It all adds character doesnt it? Watch out for the angry swarm of bees in your glove box at about 4k revs........

    * BATTERY LIGHT *

    KDF - I see what youre saying about the old alternator maybe not being faulty. Saying that it was diagnosed by Renault as faulty. :confused: DG - I have replaced my battery but I have retried the old battery and the situation was the same so I am concluding that this rules the battery out...
