Having read a few posts on here, i am lead to believe the UCH controls alarm etc and locking and unlocking of car? the problem i have is that you basically have to be standing right next to the car to unlock/lock. i have changed the battery in the key it's self thinking this may be an issue...

I was quoted £450 for it to be sorted with an aftermaket one, although i don't have a 197 no more lol, But it could vary depending on what is wrong, could be flexi, could be manifold crack? need to get under and have a butchers - then get a to a specialist to see what they will charge?

Most Likely the flexi, very common on the 197's to go, not cheap either, as said go aftermarket!

It worked for me, if you really want work up to 400 then 500 then 800, as i said i done this by hand to get the worst of the rubbish/glue residue of as it was just chewing everything else up.

So got the 3M kit of eBay, looked at the Meguiars kit but thought you will get better results sanding the lense down first the polishing up rather than just the compound with the Meguiars kit. The lenses themselves were in terrible condition, weather it was a type of glue on it or something...

​Some more progress today, got the front axle off to sort the twisting that happens, as the leaf springs have been put on top of the axle to give more clearance, so you need to add box section on the axle to stop the axle twisting. Still needs a little bit finished off before it gets put back on.

​So attacked the Truck today, all the gearbox/transfer box filled with oil and finally a new fuel tank on instead of a temp fix, and we took it a run around the yard - it drives and works, well no brakes yet as we still have the front axel to take off so no point just now!! Todays work started...

​Well tackled it yesterday, managed to get the old gearbox/transfer box out - and the new one in, lets just say doing that was not pleasent, the amount of bolts missing in the bellhousing was crazy - so drilled out as many as we could and put new high tensile bolts and locking nuts on. Not got...

Fortunate enough to have access to 2 massive units, one with a two post ramp and the other is a massive unit with loads of space which is waiting for a 4 post and 2 post to go in at some point! ​
