It was the best I could do buddy! Not quite up to 'Scott Spec'
Ah yes the lovely diff...
Specialist stripped it down, and found nothing wrong whatsoever. In-fact he said the bearing's look brand new, and I should just leave it as it is. (Fortunately he didn't charge me a penny)
Whilst...
What do we think of this 'Group A' replica rear silencer chaps?
Personally I think it looks fantastic! However I doubt it's going to be track day friendly, especially as mine would need to be 3" pipework and my current centre pipe has no silencer...
Another issue (although not major...
You really don't like Trophy's do you!?
Is it because...
A. Did one beat you in the 'twisties'?
B. You can't afford one?
C. You hate the colour red?
This list I'm sure could go on, and on!
End of the day it's a bloody awesome version of an awesome car! Regardless of whether it has...
Category B write off... 😞
£7000 agreed value
Less my £250 excess, and they wanted £500 so I could retain the Trophy.
So £6250 via a cheque and easily well over 4k in mods/parts so that £500 was well spent!
To be fair I did alright after the write off.
Insurance with an agreed value (not 16k unfortunately) and then selling on all the mods certainly helped!

Can we all just stop talking about Trophy's please! [emoji24]
All I have left is my OMP steering wheel, which is now fitted in the Impreza (felt like the right thing to do)
I also still have the #083 plaque as a little memory...

And that is definitely a genuine Forge unit! [emoji4]
Glad it's being put to good use on what is personally one of my favourite cars on the forum!
The Clio is nearly there mate, and it looks bloody awesome!
Roll on CSF17!

Pic doesn't work for me James, but Osram do some great LED sidelights.
If that's what you're after of course!?
Regardless the M3 looks awesome! Great purchase!

With the diff removed and currently at the specialist awaiting his diagnosis...
An early start allowed me to make great progress this morning by renewing all the bushes on the rear end with with either 'Powerflex' or 'STI Group N' bushes. Essentially the entire car now has renewed and...
Yeah pretty much mate! 😂
Moral of the story is don't buy a 22 year old Japanese import without your eyes wide open!
Cheers bud!
Thanks Scott it's getting there slowly. :spanner:
You still coming to CSF17?
*Update*
So last Sunday, me and a couple of mates tackled more suspension work, and managed to get a fair bit done!
* Bilstien B16's and STI group N top mounts fitted
* Powerflex camber bolts front and rear
* Whiteline anti lift kit fitted
* Whiteline bump steer kit fitted
Followed up by a...
Just to clarify I never fitted the B14's just for 'looks' after shelling out on a Quaife, my budget could only just stretch to a set of Bilsteins, and for the money they can't be beaten.
I'm hoping the B16's I've just fitted to my Impreza are just as good!
I don't understand why many people...
I sold my SACH's on and replaced them with B14's. As I ran 2118's and hated the arch gap.
Now granted my Trophy was far from standard, but in my opinion it was a much better car on the Bilsteins!
