Just remember not to let it cure like other waxes. Apply thinly to at most, half a Clio bonnet at a time and remove straight away.- aucky

Being red, its likely to be permanently faded, but something like C4 may make it a little darker.- aucky

Seeing as you're touching it a lot I'd say the only thing with a chance of restoring it is a semi-permanent sealant such as Gtechniq C4 / similar.- aucky

Scum superglued door handles shut and poured on bodywork
I don't see the harm in using nail varnish remover, seeing as you'll be sanding anyway. Might even be worth trying to shave it off with a razor blade. Pics?- aucky
