Been using this for a few years now and its been brilliant for my commute. The icons just indicate that there are 'events' along your route to warn you that there'll be traffic etc. They're reports from other Waze users - the exclamation mark is a hazard (stopped car etc) red+cars...
Similar issue, different car. Our fiesta AC/CC was blowing a fuse which took out the radiator fans so it would over heat in traffic. Ford replaced the rad fan unit and it solved it...
De-pikey'd and bought a 2' strip of LED's that run of the TV USB, they're whiter than I expected so a little bright, that and the TV isn't flush to the wall so they illuminated a big area. The missus can have her bedside lamp back now though...

We don't use them at work, we use centremaps (as we're not paying for them lol) but if he just wants parts of Essex for personal use then it'd be fine.. less so for commercial use
