Yeah and if he had ABS would it have stopped him crashing? What exactly do you think ABS will do? Do you think it wil get the driver out of every situation? If he went into a corner without knowing it was there if he had ABS the chances are it wouldnt have done anything to help him...
Neil,
It was taken in Torryburn next to the Forth. I think it will be better in the summer when the sun is high in the sky. I have access to a pretty tasty digital camera, so maybe you can give me some tips!

Search for CUP, there are hundreds for sale, most of them at £250!
Simon,
He may have been in a higher gear. Ive recently been in a E46 M3 and its awesome. A guy up in Aberdeen on the A90 was caught doing 156.7 MPH(that was average speed BTW!), apparently unlimited the M3 will touch 180MPH!
Adam
Pics dont do the 172/Cup justice at all! Beleive me when I say that the Blue of the Cup when you see it person, or have it looming large in your rear view mirror, is very defined! It looks so aggressive!
....ha gotchya looking!!;)

Gibbos, Neil82Cup and teady172
If only the sun was behind us it would have made a much better set of pictures. I had to bin the others! Flying Scotsman you...
Nissan are in a different league as far as build quality and reliabilty goes. Neil82Cup(brother) had a P11 SRi, not a single rattle after 45K, those engines will last at least until the next millenium!!!! It was modded to buggery as well.
Steve-Hall,
As far as I am aware the 172/Cup/V6 is actually built/developed by RenaultSport. They have a seperate production line/factory for them. The V6 used to be assembled by TWR, however the MK2 are now being built by RS!!!
Alright guys,
All I can say is, cheeeze that thing is quick, every bit as quick as mine if not quicker and it only has 250 miles on the clock!!:o
Seems to have less body roll as well when cornering.
Ill try and get some better pic of both of them tomorrow!
My bro has just picked his Cup u from the garage. The colour coded sidestrip look really dull, almost like there is no laquer on them. Can anyone else confirm that their Cup is the same.
You say it will help Ben, but will it be any better when negotiating a B road right hander with a few ruts and bumps, surley it will make it trikier to handle on uneven surfaces. Ok, you might see the differnence on the track!?
IMO there is no need to lower the Cup anymore the only reason I can see why you would want to do it would be for looks.
Youve got to look at it this way, Renault spend millions developing the correct chasis combinations, for normal road going conditions and track in the case of the CUP...
You were the guy with the Punto Turbo that didnt think the 172 was that fast, all I can say is that I have no problems taking on and staying with a car that has the exact same engine as the 1.8T Audi. Its the Ibiza Cupra,oh did I mention it has over 200BHP and a lot lighter. So I just dont...
The standard ones have 150BHP for the FWDs and the 4WD have 180 i think, neither are particularly quick. However, they can be chipped to give big power outputs!
