Defiantly spend as much as you can on peripherals, a cheap mouse a keyboard will ruin any game.

I played Crysis on my Acer Aspire One with a single core 1.6Ghz Atom with inbuilt graphics :) About 6FPS...

Nobody said to spend that much, my 'workstation' isn't just used for gaming.

Something will only go wrong if you build it wrong, I always stress test my water cooling systems for 24 hours before I send them out!

Anything other than the stock CPU cooler will work for overclocking, a cheap liquid cooling system for £40 will be perfect. I would say 600watt is fine, but always get the best you can afford.

Do you know what size case you have (ATX or Micro ATX) £500 should be enough, you won't be able to play Skyrim on max detail though ;) I would spend as much money as possible on the Graphics card. As for ram, 4GB is fine, games don't use allot of it and speed wont matter at that price because...
