You sure you have the leads going to the correct cylinders ? after all that swapping around you may have 2 leads reversed. If ok then it will be compression test or a visit to someone with a fault reader.

His lights also flicker so may not be the idler valve.

Most cars now have 1 foglight as that is all that is required in the UK.

There have been many threads about rough idle, especially on 172Cups, on this forum and most people tend agree it's normal. Some have had remaps and had the fault cured. I'm going to have mine done in the near future.
