Now thats the beast that we should have compared to the bloody Cooper-S Works thingy on here the other week isnt it? V6 about the same price arent they?:D £27k ish
Let us know how you get on in the beast! and the million dollar question "Is it worth 14k more than the cup?"...
Try putting your parents on the policy as named drivers. This might help a bit as the guy who bought my VTR (also 19) did that and got it down to £1300 with elephant i think.
Have a friend who got free insurance as part of the deal (wasnt offered with the car) on a 1.4 Dynamic. Just managed to...
All good things.........
I only got a new one last week.
Thats it then! Last of the old school style hot hatches is taken from us:cry:
first the 205, Williams and now the CUP! Boring Euros!
Oh yes! The Analogue speedo on a car is soooo correct!! Im sure all 1.0 car can do 110mph! :D
It take lots and lots on power to push any production car much faster than what it was built to do.
Oh yeah and how much would that cost then!?!?! What if the 172 had NOS! We could go on about this all day! The point we are trying to get across is there is no point spending thousands and thousand of pounds getting a little 1.2 produce the power of a 1.6! In the hope that your might just be...
3-door Astra 1.8 SXi? Only group 8. 0-60 8.5 127mph. Had one on hire - nice trim level. ABS/A.C/Cruise Control/leather steering wheel.
Then again might not be your cup o tea!
MK1 Rallye is a great little car but needs to be pushed hard to get the power out of it. Might as well be a 1.1 under...
Gonna pay the insurance companies managing directors wages for the year are you?:)
Insurance depend lots on where you live! I have a friend who got a Cup when he was 19 and Tesco did it for around £1800 I think.
A bloke at work could knock a Renault dealer down to about that on a new one! He bought his wife a VTR a year or so ago and knocked the Citroen dealer down to about £7k! He doesnt that with everything he buys! So people are great like that!
Depends I never see any CUPs round here. Only mine, Frostys and some girl in South Croydon once. See loads of 172s though. Ohh and I guy at work has a CUP but he lives in Crawley
Bought the cup cause I wanted the cup! I was offered a 172 (pre-reg but new (10 miles) by the same dealer) for the same price as I paid for the cup. I did think about it over a whole weekend but the 172 was silver and a hate silver on any car let alone my own. The mondial blue cup just looked...
I sold my VTR and have just bought a cup. Although I had a VTR (2000 mk2) I have driven a VTS (old P reg one) many times during the past 3 years. Although it was quicker than the VTR once the revs up! it wasnt a great deal torquer. The cup has loads more torque than the VTS so this should help...
GOT IT! Superb!!! Gonna be so so so hard running it in! Did allow the revs to sneak up a few times;) but not too much! Handles way way better than my VTR. Glovebox rattling a bit though. better investigate! HATE the winter because it gets dark so bloody quick!
Rubbish! Picked up my 53 CUP yesterday and they were fitting it as i got to the place. Also there was a second hand 03 (six months) only 300 less that I was paying for the new one.
Yeah Please dont start this again! Both 172 and Cup are great! It will sound like the Saxo forum soon. ;)
Ohhhh my East Coast can ave a Nova GTE! and its got 160 at the wheels! SHUT UP!
ps Frosty is selling a good R Spec Cup in the Croydon area. Very fast!
