    I can't remember to be honest, think this is what I had when I couldn't start mine and it had that noise.

    I recharged my battery but it didn't last long as the cell was dead so didn't take charge properly.

    Was a while back but I think it was a dead cell in the battery and the battery had to be replaced.

    I thought they were meant to be quite a bit quicker but not seen stats on it. Read a document on the seek times being quick though, particularly the start up due to it not needing to spin a disk.

    As edde says get them replaced and soon as if you have a problem your going to be stuck with the wheel on the car and can't get it off.

    Well I'm happy iTunes has just updated to version 7.6 and Windows 64 bit lets you use your iPhone and iPod Touch on it now :D

    You mean solid state...it's a hard drive the doesn't have any moving parts, making it quicker.
