No you must also have a ballast unit which connects to the bulb it's a box, I have cable tied it to something in the engine bay although because I have a mk2ph1 i'm unsure about the bay in the 197 although yes if you install a hid kit on a car with projectors it looks excatly the same as a car...

4300k is the oem renault bulb i've heard but most people on here (like me) run the 6000k kit looks nice with a slight blue tint to it, not too chavvy can get a kit from ebay for around 45 notes.

Is the headlamp you've got (cornering lamps) projectors if so then you can fit an aftermarket hid kit which would involve little work although it's not technically legal.

See if bailey can get you a picture of his 8k then you can kinda gauge what you like

yup that's the ones I bought was just £44 shipped no customs etc he marks it as gift with note inside and marks value as like $20 or summit like that. Was a smooth transaction but because it was the Chinese new year when I got mine I had to wait a while as the courier never picked the item up...

I thought 8k would be too blue 6k has just that slight edge to it, the bloke i got it from on ebay has a picture with the different bulb types set against a wall check it out. Looks really good with the projectors not like them tossers that fit it to halogen units...
