Had the same prob...had the tentioner responsible replaced yesterday...had to wait 4 days 4 them to sort it though, bit pissed off that it happened to an 8 month old car :@. Must admit the dealership in Cornwall was very helpfull though, as I didnt buy the car from them, the same dealer ship...

I know what you meen..... I never get tired of looking at 172s!!!!!:) Didnt go anywhere for christmas but my car was off the road :((waiting for a part..thanx Renault!!) Finnaly got it sorted yesterday and all the waiting was forgiven when I got back behind the wheel last night!!

Hi, taking my mk2 sport in to Renault for a new (tensioner??) Its the first time its been back to Renault, is there anything else I should ask them to do/check?? whilst im there?? the car has done 8,500 miles. Thanx!!

Just had my mk2 sport back to Renault to day with the same prob, it was the automatic cambelt tensioner, they said DONT drive it until they replace it.:(
