My experience of the contis is strange. My first set of fronts lasted 8000 miles, they were superb in the wet and the dry, never had any complaints!
This new set seem to have a tendandcy to understeer and slip around at ridiculously low speeds, never had that problem with the first set...

In my experience with 8-Valve cars they all have tended to be better on the uptake! They were an old Mk1 Golf Gti and a 2.0 Laguna, always seemed nippy pulling away at 20MPH in second say, where the equivalent 16V engine wouldnt be as responsive.

Yeah GR, it was pretty terrible last night!
Nice today though, think a good clean and a wax is the order of the day.....might as well wash the car as well!:o

A VTR being an 8V will have, what feels like better pull low down, however when you get over that you realise that the revs are building slowly. The same thing applies to my old mans Golf TDi, hell it would destroy a VTR!!

I dont know about you but Im effectively semi-hibernating my clio over the winter months, just bringing it out for the 12 mile round trip to work! Ill try to limit the millage to under 1000 miles over 4 months or so!
