    How do I check the alarm?

    172 yeah.? Standard alarm? Ok, remote control central locking activates the alarm. If the car locks from the remote on the key, then the alarm activates through that. If the light is not flashing on the key, and the car is not locking itself when you press it. Then you have a remote issue...

    wheel knocking noise

    Knocking when, str8, turning, what speeds, what about braking.? Can swap your spare onto the car to rule out the wheel. Try reversing with full lock on etc, see how it performs and report back to us when and where it makes the noise.

    stop light on @ 130mph!?!?

    As mentioned..brake fluid level dropped. I had this on the M56 - M53 slip road ages ago. Sort of worried me but as i backed off it went away. Renault wont do anything as its a check, and not an ensure. Top it up yourself.

    Need a enclosed airfilter with cold air feed to prevent hot air entering the system from the engine bay. You can just use the gap between the headlamp and the wing like mine.. :), or you could go the whole hog and run it behind the front grill for full ram air action, or put it into the front...

    Pics -- Update!

    Lose the splitter for a 172 / 182 one. Thought the 182 grill only be fitted to a 182 bumper, unless your on about the one below the bonnet, then its either ebay or renault. The splitter fitted looks odd without the side skirts etc. Looks meaty at the front, the standard from the side..

    Hmm, knowingly replensihing a leaking refigeration system is illegal. Find out what they are putting into the car, ie.. if its R135a etc then post back up. Large fines for replenishing a known leaking system, hence why all out aircraft are drained of the stuff.

    Damage after shunt...

    I remember seeing a cosworth that had a rear end shunt but had been repaired. Lifted the boot carpet and it looked like the bloke had repaired the crease in the floor himself.. Well rough.. New floor for your car...tho it could be a written off car as its not worth much.
