If you want to drive up and down the motorway, why would you buy a RS Clio? Rep mobiles are designed for cruising and overtaking on the motorway hence the huge torque and lack of concern over weight.
What roads do you drive on? Better to talk about rep mobiles on twisties than Clios on motorways.
To smash your car? I have had lowered cars before and know the balance between go-kart handling and hitting speed bumps etc and I was just saying that although the car looks the nuts that low, it wont look like that for long if you are not very careful.
I have just sold my Bora to the first person who saw it. In the meantime I have had people haggling with my by text message without even seeing the car. I have come to the conclusion that anyone who cannot be bothered to see the car is a waster :(:(:(.
If all goes to plan, my Bora gets picked...
That bloke has way too much time on his hands!!!!!!
After all he did it is hard to say anything negative but I didn't like the colour of the wheels. They ended up looking smaller than they really were.
Any idea how much the car is worth after all that work?
Well I am the lucky person that has bought Seb's 197. Investing in a home is the right thing to do (you will be amazed what a money pit it will become!!!) and as I have mentioned before, I sold my CTR to extend the kitchen so I know Seb's pain.
Got home tonight, and the wife went mental (don't...
Why not go for a Civic Type-R. Bombproof reliability and you might be able to get a nice facelift (53/04) model. I had one and loved it. Funny really as I am going the otherway to a 197. Build quality is my main concern but it looks great and the reviews love it too.
I drove a Cooper S and think that the handling is too good. It does what it's told without any complaint = boring. The car feels very slow compared to a 182/197, and the big negative for me is that there are too many on the road.
Agree with the others though, you need to drive them all yourself.
I have looked at a Megane 225 and have thought about getting another Type-R as I loved my last one (flame suit on) but my priorities have changed. The kids can get into the car themselves and I don't really care about top speed.
I want a small fun car that handles well and having done all my...
Melting Steering wheels!!!! How is that happening?
I know that the earlier 197s have different 5th & 6th gear ratios from those after Oct 2007 and I only do about 5000 miles a year so I am not too worried about mpg. The hardest thing about spending £10k on a car is knowing that it will spend...
Hi all
I am new to this forum but not new to hot hatches or forums. I am looking to buy a Clio 197 in the next few months (got to change the wife’s car first!!!!) and wanted your opinion on whether to go for a standard 197 or a 197 F1. Just before you all say go for an F1 (which I think are the...
