Should be fine m8y because the caf will cover most of it like you sed. I did a few hundred miles without one on at all in wet conditions and all was fine, so I wudn't worry
I thought by having the hubcentric spacers rather than a piece of metal, you can use standard bolts and also there is no faffing about if you take your wheel off at any time. That what I thought anyway lol.
