The sensor is in the pass side wing mirror. there is prob a loose wire in there. Check that first just remove the glass or the whole mirror and check the wirering loom for loose conection. Sounds like a loose connection due to working on bumps ect.

No that switch changes through your pre set radio stations. Your car didnt have a trip computer. Didnt come onto Clio until Clio2. Phase 1,2 and 3 dont have the trip computer, that gives mpg fuel comsumption and all that jazz.
