most ppl on here nail it from the word go coz it creates a better piston seal.
personally i varied the revs for the first few hundred miles as in a few short acceleration bursts.
Basically dont hammer from cold, dont keep at a constant speed...
went in Halfrauds yesterday, just wondering round bored and noticed they had a load of the meguiars range in amongst all their boy racer stuff, away from all the turtle wax and autoglym stuff - nx tech wax and the likes - respect!!

a friend of mine has an old clio (1.4 i think) and it creaks really badly when going over speed bumps, or under braking - any ideas anyone? shocks perhaps?

Just been round to my mum and dads - my dad has a t reg clio automatic 1.6rt or somert - anyway he asked me the other week to look as his sunroof as it wouldnt shut properly - its an electric one and the corner was sticking up - i hadnt got a clue - so anyway he took it to reno - got it back...
problem is tho these scummers dont care who they trample all over, if they dont find your keys theyll prob go upstrairs and threaten you, i know 5 people whove had theit houses broken into for car keys - i never leave mine around and always keep a golf club under the bed incase i encounter any...
check your coolant level, if youre losing coolant then this suggests head gasket. I very much doubt it is head gasket, condensation tends to build up in the oil, like soche said, more likely if only doing short journeys.
